the country is in the continent of Africa so is an African country. Not sure why it should be considered a "win for all Africans" though because that's completely irrelevant. But clearly it is an African country as it is in Africa, same as Panama is a North American country despite being culturally similar to many South American countries etc. Being African can mean a variety of cultures etc just the same as being Asian can be very different if you live in China to if you live in the UAE or being European can be different to people from different parts of Europe such as Norway compared to Moldova. And even within these countries there is a variety of cultures and races who live there. The world is a diverse place.

How interesting. I am an AA presently here in Accra, Ghana. The Ghanaians (for the most part) have been pro-Africa for the duration of the World Cup. From Senegal to Tunisia, to Morocco and Cameroon. They have supported African nations. With Morocco being the last African nation standing, everyone here was rooting for Morocco. I'm South African and it's a pretty well known fact that a number of North African nations don't consider themselves African. However some individuals from those places do and we love to see it. But to those who wish to distance themselves from the rest of the continent I say let them. It's their choice it's doesn't change the facts though. Africa is Africa regardless of how some people from those nations feel. If they really don't like the continent so much then they should go to the middle eastern nation of their choice. Egypt and Algeria have expressed similar sentiments. So the whole Morocco thing isn't really a surprise. The funny thing is we have people born all over the world even in places like Europe who try so hard to hold on to their African roots and identity but some Aficans right here want nothing to do with their own home.
