As someone from the airline industry. Those pilots have had so much training! An airplane is made to fly with only 1 engine, it has two just for backup, turbulence, is just air pockets, watch a bird in the sky- they deal with them too. Turbulence cannot cause the plane damage, cannot cause the pilots to lose control, is just what you have to deal with in the sky sometimes. This quick two plane trip will be nothing like the ride you took from Canada. Quick and easy. If you are nervous, let your flight attendants know, they will do what they can to help. The airline I work for, you can board early if need be to get yourself comfortable. You have got this! We are all rooting for you!

On my 21st birthday I had to take 3 flights all on my own from the United States to Poland where my husband was living for a short time. It was my first time traveling internationally and the scariest thing I have ever done but now that it is over that was the greatest trip I have had so far. The only thing you have to do is make it to Morocco and the amazing memories will outweigh any nervousness you feel now.

Here’s something I do that helps with the air scares - as soon as I’m in my seat I take a Gravol (zzzzz), put on my neck pillow and fuzzy eye mask, take off my shoes and put on soft socks and pop in my air pods with a fantastic podcast (I love Heavyweight). I get as cozy and distracted as possible and Aimee it really does help love.

@@kingingit So glad the flight was okay. I actually took flying lessons when I was 19 (yep, it was a pterodactyl). I did 15 hours and never soloed. But my best landing was when the instructor turned the engine off on the downwind leg. Time to practice an emergency landing! I think my fear of flying stems from claustrophobia and lack of control. It is a handy way to get places. Good luck to Craig on his travels. You two are funny and real and vulnerable and lovely. Bet you're even nice in real life. Smile.

I had extreme anxiety concerning driving. It was so bad that if I seat in the driver seat my whole body would shake violently and my arms and legs would completely draw up. I was 23 before I was able to drive. The thing that helped me the most was deep breathing and listening to soothing music (I’m a singer/musician). There are lots of videos on KZbin of waterfalls with soft music. Those are typically the most calming for me. I would imagine that I was on a float in the water which was at the perfect temperature and someone was on the bank playing the music. Initially I was still a little anxious, but the more I concentrated on breathing and the sounds the more I calmed down. I hope this helps, Captain B! Breath in through your nose and out through your mouth. Slow deep breaths taking in as much oxygen as your lungs will allow. Make sure your stomach expands as your inhale so that your lungs are able to fill properly.

I also started watching you via Eamon and Bec and Kara and Nate. Whales. Fascinating creatures. On one of my night dives in the Turks and Caicos (islands in the Caribbean), the whales were migrating AND singing. Incredible music, through the dark water ... beautiful, memorable, ethereal, haunting experience. Earlier this week, listened to a radio program on NPR in the US. A musician explained that the whales change their songs every year ... and no one knows how or why. The musician played his clarinet via underwater speakers. The whales responded with singing the same song. UNBELIEVABLE. Made me weep. Hope you get to swim with the whales!

Use the grounding technique! So, when your anxiety starts climbing, start looking around and mentally saying inanimate objects around you. That's what I do! "Notebook. Pen. Cup. Window." Etc. It gets your brain focused on solid things.

I've had a couple of panic attacks while flying. It's terrible. I'm sure you are aware of all the things that can help control anxiety, like feeling well rested, good nutrition, and exercise. But my husband once said something to me that has been super helpful: "It's scary, but is it dangerous?" I have successfully flown recently and found that putting in my earphones, closing my eyes, listening to a distracting podcast or music, and asking myself this question was tremendously helpful. You can do it!

💃 By now you’ve probably flown, but I found that learning what all the different noises the plane makes were what helped me. The whir of the landing gear door opening. The thump the landing gear makes when it locks in place. The little whine the part of the wing makes to steer the plane in the right direction. The whine of the two year old that didn’t get a cookie. You know, the one that makes you climb of all the seats and throttle the the Mom for ignoring him. Safe travels.

Dear Aimee another you tuber was talking about having the same fear of throwing up on planes and general vulnerability while traveling and she had to fly between newzeland and Greece. She said she was actually sick but that everyone was so kind to her and she felt so cared for that it was actually wonderful. People want to help and you might be surprised at how well you get on as a solo traveler. Anxiety is real though and I get it all the time. I imagine my anxiety is a small child I’m looking after and it really helps 💕💕💕

What I loved in the Valencia’s “old city quarter” near to the cathedral, is all the amazing street art, and murals. Truly some very talented artists doing their thing. I’m surprised you were able to film in the cathedral. I had to sneak taking pictures. Of course that was back in 2019…. Times have changed.

Dinos are the BEST!! If you two ever come back to Canada, and over to the west side, Drumheller in Alberta is the BEST for dinosaurs. There’s even a life size T-Rex you can climb up!! Dear Aimee, you're both such quirky and beautiful people I enjoy watching you immensely - before flight I try to have workout, I eat very little, drink no coffee only herbal tea, pack bags day earlier and arrive to airport few hours early - to reduce stress. I am a super anxious flyer!!! Things that help me: - packing lists - writing down my itinerary, flight times, layover times, etc. - CBD !!! If you can get your hands on some CBD before you head out, it helps me tremendously. My favorite is “Garden of Life, Dr. Formulated CBD + Relax”

Flying is so scary! I didn’t fly for 5 years because I was so scared and every time I do it I just look at the flight attendants and remember that that’s their job and they go back and fourth multiple times a day then go home and sleep. So I just keep my eyes on them and watch them do their job and see how at peace they are and it keeps me calm as well.. I also try to sleep and watch loads of movies the whole time. You will be fine no worries! Love the content!

When I fly, I take 50mg of Dramamine. 20mg THC /CBD I bring a neck pillow for comfort. Think of turbulence like bumps in the road, very normal. If you can choose a seat close to the bulk head that helps. Choose the middle seat if possible. It is the safest. It is ok to tell the flight attendants that you are a nervous flyer. They will take extra care to make you comfortable. I once asked a stranger if I could hold his arm while we went through some rough weather. He said yes. People will help you if you ask. I was always afraid to fly. My daughter took me on my first flight to St Thomas and it was fine. I’m good for trips under 5hrs,then I start getting antsy. Forget about the lew, it’s smaller and just makes it worse.try to distract yourself with people watching or looking out window. Love you two, bring a smile (and chuckle) to my day. Carry on
