How To Connect Steering Wheel Controls Using Axxess ASWC-1 (2016 Scion TC, ATOTO S8 Pro Head Unit).

In this video, we will show how to connect steering wheel controls using Axxess Integrate ASWC-1 Interface. This Interface is designed to auto-detect vehicle type, radio type, and preset control. In this case, we will be doing the installation of the module in 2016 Scion TC upgraded with ATOTO S8 Pro Android head unit.

In the case of this vehicle and head unit ASWC-1 was able to auto-detect the vehicle but not the head unit. Because of this, we had to manually set up the ASWC-1 to recognize ATOTO S8Pro.

And it worked!! I switched it to Eclipse #2 for my Honda Civic 2014 LX and I got EVERY SINGLE BUTTON WORKING! I even got my Bluetooth buttons working!! Thanks again! Amazing help!

For Android Head units you don't need the additional steering wheel control interface with a Scion TC or most Toyotas. You need the harness for the steering wheel and connect them directly to the head unit. Head unit has 2 wires labeled for that specific reason.

Hey man, I did all the process but I can’t get to set the buttons for next/prev and my USB port on my Scion doesn’t work anymore I have arito f7 unit and an Scion tC 2013 any help you could give??

It is hard to troubleshoot remotely. But try to go through the whole Radio List of the ASWC-1. This could help to set the next/prev buttons.

The ASWC-1 unit is universal. Because of that the instructions will be different for different vehicles. It also works with different types of headunits. In this case I was installing ATOTO head unit into 2016 Scion TC. Vehicle specific instructions that you download will tell you which wires you need to connect to the existing connector in the vehicle(I briefly showed the wires which were connected in the Scion), it will also tell you which ground wire you need to connect (the grounding bolt was also shown in the video). In the video I tried to go over the key points in this installation. But you still need to go through the manual. There are different scenarios for different vehicles and head units.

using axis module, can you assign two functions for the same button? in your case for “MODE” button, single press for play pause and hold button to answer a call? or is it limited to one function per button within the stereo programming? thank you excellent video
