Scion TC (2011-2016): Backup Camera Installation. ATOTO AC-HD03 Bird's Eye View Camera.

In this video, we will show the full installation process of ATOTO AC-HD03 Bird's Eye View Backup Camera in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016 Scion TC. This specific camera has to be connected to the ATOTO S8 Android Head Unit to be able to produce the Bird's Eye View function.

This is an excellent video and you have motivated me to install a rear view camera on my 2006 Scion TC. What gauge speaker wire did you use to extend and connect to the lights? And could I use the left light instead of the right light?

Sorry, I don't remember the exact gauge. I believe it was 18 awg. The wire can't be smaller than the existing wire but it can be bigger. You can connect to either light, depending on how you choose to run your wire.

Hi. I am going to install a rear camera but it is not going to be connected to the battery, it is only going to the mirror camera. My doubt is if to run the wires through the side airbags to the rear window I have to disconnect the 12V battery. They should not deploy because of that but I have that doubt before I start with the installation. Thank you.

Can someone please tell me what type of extra wire I should be getting. I’m doing the same job on the same car but need extra wire to get the job done but I’m confused

Additional wires needed for picking up signal from Backup bulb because Kit's original trigger wire is too short . You need set of the two wires(in our case Black and Red) about 6 meters long, AWG-16 will be enough. You have to tap both backup wires to make this connection. You have to be ready to cut and solder power cable that connects camera and head unit as well- to make possible to pull it through rubber sleeve.

When you install the camera, does the headunit automatically detect it and enable the birds eye view? Because I have a regular OEM camera and have been trying to use just that on my S8 Ultra.

Yes, the headunit automatically detects the camera and enables the bird's eye view. The camera has to be the ATOTO ACHD03. The Bird's view won't work with OEM camera.
