I’ve spent a great deal of time listening to your updates and always find you incredibly sincere and undoubtedly a really good chap. I’ve recently retired early and currently renovating our Morris which we have had for forty years it’s been stripped down to the chassis and panels but I’ve been using your video’s to point me in the right direction the heater reverb was great and I’m currently in throws of prepping for spraying keep doing this it’s really watchable best regards Steve

Fine Business! One of the easyest cars to work on.I was doing all of the things you mentioned except for the bonnet at age 15 16 and 17.Only difference is the auto salvage was full of those cars at that time. Easy to work on.CHEERS from Westcoast Canada!

So sorry to hear your woe’s, hopefully the damage is restricted to the bonnet and hinges only. I shall bring up an inspection of the bonnet safety catch during the training days I run. The safety catch is easy to miss, my wife informs me one of ours is missing the end 😳

Oh blimey, at least you know and can get it fixed before anything happens. At least this video can be used so other people can avoid it

Sorry to hear Jean has been damaged , it must be gutting given the work that you've done to it. Still, at least you're OK and didn't get hurt. Looking forward to the coming videos. Greetings from a Morris Traveller owner in Somerset.

ouch! that was a close call, I was thinking about putting some extra straps on my bonnet, it happened years ago on my old pontiac it acted like a parachute and almost stopped me dead but did no damage.

Im definately fitting straps to mine as IO never want this happening again

Wow, I wonder if the end of the secondary catch broke because the bonnet was rattling up and down shortly prior to it opening fully, and up until then had been ok? Or is it clearly an old break?
@thefatfrierunleshed3 жыл бұрын
it looks to have been an old break. I never even noticed the bonnet moving, but i think its more noticable because the dash cam was mounted so low. Still a scary time

Back in the day, I had a brand new Lada Samara courtesy car and that happened to me on a 40mph road. I poo'd myself!!!

Honestly seeing a bonnet fly up is absolutely terrifying

Wow! Imagine the damage it could have called if it didn't have that prop rod holding it on
@thefatfrierunleshed3 жыл бұрын
I got incredibly lucky. Could have been so much worse if it didnt hold.

I took my engine out bud. It's not as bad as you think. it is better to take the engine out separate from the gearbox. you can remove it with a few friends, you don't need to hire a crane. top tip - take the front panel off and front bumper to give you lots of access. If you get any issues msg me on here bud ok? you will be fine. charles ware do a duplex timing chain. it's an upgrade to the original, and its only about £33.

I don't think pulling the engine out of a minor would be that hard. I pulled the engine out of my Midget and there is WAY more working room in a minor than a midget

Im hoping but I know this car well enough that there will be some bodge lurking that will trip me up
