I envy you for being able to do this, my age is against me now but years ago I tackled this.

Hi Mr Frier. Good to see you posting again. Was looking forward to seeing new "Jean" videos and here we are. I'm doing a referbishment on my Minor. All new brake system, pedal linkages, timing chain, water pump, dizzy rebuild and a dozen other things. Looking forward to next month's installment from you. Keep up the good work. Greetings from a Morris Traveller owner in Somerset,

I’m glad your back creating your videos you’ve been missed great to see you working with your Dad it’s much easier with two I’ve just completed my minor engine reverb but it’s taken me nearly 6months to compete ! . I’m undertaking a nuts and bolt restoration and of course it really does when you retired. Can’t wait to see the subsequent episodes best of luck Stephen

Good to see you coming along on the old Morris. Don't get discouraged, very few things ever go as planned with any project. Keep your Chin up you'll make it through!!!

Considering the amount of work and time you put into the body and chassis it does make sense to sort the mechanical side now. In the long term you are going to have a cracking moggy. I do remember back in 1991 when my clutch after much warning just gave up 80 miles from home and I remember it was most inconvenient as it meant I missed a days work. So here's wishing you all the best with the project!!!!!!

You could save the Engine coolant and Antifreeze and re use it

Nice to see you back tinkering ! I notice the carb air filter mounting base plate the part that has the long stud attached which you screw the air filter wing nut too- The round part that secures to the carburettor is actually upside down. I’d advise turning it round as there is a breather hole from the carb through the filter if fitted correct. Keep up tinkering and look forward to your next upload as and when 👍

I forgot to take off the oil pressure line on mine and spent so long trying to get the damn thing out with the thing still attached... Ironically had a much easier time of it the first time I changed the engine when I did it without a winch in a carpark.

@@thefatfrierunleshed it's not too bad with two people. It was only the engine, no gearbox, and if you have a jack under it you can shuffle it forwards and two people can kind of lift it out the front. Wasn't easy though!

I have a '69 traveller and the bloody propshaft bolts are a mixture of Whitworth headed bolts and imperial nyloc nuts........wtf were they thinking.!!!

Hah, you get back into posting Minor videos just at the same time as I do. I've replaced several Moggy differentials over the years, and every time I've just ended up cutting the driveshaft bolts off from the diff side, and replacing them with metric items. Saves a lot of faffing about. Also, word to the wise on lifting the engine, you want those two lifting brackets that bolt to the rocker cover to be facing towards each other, not away as you have them. The way round you have them, you can end up bending the studs they fasten onto. Ask me how I know.

I was getting tempted to cut them off but I was lucky that I was ok to get them off in the end. Most frustrating bolts I have encountered

I hope you are going to replace those old "odd" fastenings and replace with standard one''s....it makes life soooo much easier! And when you're using axle stands don't put wooden blocks on them....they can slip. The axle stand is designed with a "y" shape platform to prevent it slipping for safety reasons.....easier to touch up a paint scrub on the chassis than you needing a new face!! Good work otherwise.! John.

The whole job shouldn't take more than a day. And exchange the gearbox with a Ford 5 speed. Fully synchronized
