I've watched about two dozen reactions to this trailer, but you guys were the one I've been waiting on most! Absolutely loved how you laughed Ken with the failed hat toss...such an overlooked bit of comedy for the tone of the video. And of course there's Bethany being grossed out, but powering through...almost like she "can't not look at it."

So the "tag team" is called cameo fighters which basically are different fighters from the basic roster and they can be used to grab,counter and attack your opponents

That. Was. INTENSE! I loved seeing all the characters from the first Mortal Kombat in their original outfits, even if for a second -- and Goro running in to put the smack-down on Kitana for Mileena. Wow! It looks like there's going to be a story mode, but I wonder if there will also be a pure tournament mode like they had for the original? Either way, I'm looking forward to this game.

Sadly, this is not tag team, this is a function named "Kameo": basically you select a second character to jump in to join for a single shot every now and then.

The assists are Kameo fighters they come in to help with a simple press of the RB button and also they have different moves depending on the direction you move at. Some kameo fighters will be on the main roster but not all of them. Some will be kameo only.

In this new timeline, there are a number of changes. Scorpion and Sub Zero are now biological brothers, Edenia was never absorbed by Outworld and seemingly Mileena is the ruler of Edenia, Raiden is now mortal but still retains his powers, and Kenshi is not blind although I think he will be at some point judging by his base skin. He also seemingly has a Yakuza background judging by the tattoos. Really dope so far

Kameo Fighters have at least 5 states/moves, each is generally unique in style but there is some overlap in function; they can also help with fatalities and Krushing Blows. This game's art direction is coloful and vibrant, as Liu Kang has just started his journey. Kitana and Kenshi's face actors and mocappers are actual martial artists this go round (Gemma Nguyen and Noah Fleder of Gamology fame), so far the only returning face actor is for Johnny Cage but there's speculation that Kano's original actor, Richard Divisio gave permission for his likeness to be used for the "Klassic Kameo" (he works for WBG on and off so kind of easy to get a hold of) along with Kerri Hoskins (mk3) as Sonya; the only known returning voice actors are Kitana, Liu, Johnny, Mileena, and Kung Lao so far. The big bad is also unknown, as Shang Tsung is DLC.

they added a Kameo system. basically you get a pseudo-tag partner that you can draw on their moves. you could also have their Fatalities at your disposal. Netherealm has tried before but couldn't get a tag system to run right until the Kameo system.

Mileena this time around is in line to be the ruler of edenia ( kitana and mileenas realm before conquered by shao kahn) but it seems she comes across a disease that brings her the mouth we all know her for so she thinks kitana is trying to sabotage her and take the throne for herself…also rumor is kenshi may be working for the black dragon and they must have captured mileena and giving her the disease in the experiment

The Kameo fighters can do lots of things; the entire game's combat is based around the idea of an assist character. They can jump in to attack, they can get the enemy off you like a combo breaker, but some are also better at certain things. Jax, for example, can do a grab, but if you decide to spend a bar of super meter whenyou call him, his grab will do more damage and set the enemy up for a combo. Kano, on the other hand, is more about projectiles and zoning the enemy out. So picking the right Kameo for your playstyle will be very important.

You guys should check out Don Critic’s Mortal Kombat Explained series. He does a good job of explaining the stories and development of all the games that came before MK 9, MK X, & MK 11. A lot of characters from these games had minor appearances in the stories leading up to the new MK 1 game.

The tag team is actually a brand new mechanic Called Kameo Fighters And is a separate roster from the main roster of characters. you can assist and use some of your kameo fighters moves to extend more combos. And as you saw You can perform tag team X rays and Fatalities

The kameos are basically assists that can help u in a fight and will do a fatal blow with u the kameos do have fatalities which are the classic fatalities in mortal Kombat x and the characters have a backstory all of the characters have a backstory and it’s great to see striker back again

First of all, that is not tag team. It's new mechanic with Kameo Fighters. Like, there two different character selection screens. You select one character for yourself, and second one as your backup, kinda like in Marvel vs Capcom. And during the fight, you can call your selected Kameo Fighter with a press of a button to help you out in combo or in general. Also Kameo fighters has their own classic fatalities and, like you saw, some of them has their own classic costumes. But, Kameo fighters are not playable. Well, at least not all of them. Like Ed Boon said on Summer Game Fest, there will be characters who is both on playable and kameo rosters, but not all of them will be playable. But then, there is kameo fighters who exclusive to the story mode and are not available in arcade mode or any other mode. Second, this is just a trailer. But if you want a full gameplay, then you can check out videos from those who played the game early. Like on Gamer's Little Playground channel, where you can even watch fatalities for the characters that you saw. So I hope to see your reaction on full early gameplay.

This ain't the klassic tag team as it was in MK9 (like 2 characters being completely playabale as main characters where you only switched between 2 characters / but those also did assists too). In MK1 they are so called ,,kameo'' assist characters. Doing mostly ..assists for the main character you choosed to play as. They are controlable too (you decide when they show up on the screen or even what move should they do) but they are just that ..ASSISTS characters (for your main choosed fighter).
