@@mab03 i mean i will say that point is fair he never said anything about them being hit consistently online, he just said crazy high damage combos were possible. which they very much were, its not wrong that it was difficult to do and normal combos were only around 35-40% damage but its also not wrong that half of the roster could definitely hit over 50% if not around 65% with the right knowledge even getting up to 70+ percent if you bring in stage items like the time orb, and I would honestly say that isn't much different from what we have now aside from the obvious outliers like Ermac Janet with the puppet combos, I'm certainly not hitting any combos consistently that are over 45% online, at least not any i haven't extensively practiced and perfected. i understand criticizing the game, and even the creators discussing it if you believe the things they say aren't for the best interest of the community, and there are many things i hear from underdawg i don't agree with at all. But this is something that is just ridiculous to argue because there is specific examples of what he says being true.

@@mab03 Im a bit combo hater(ish), the problem is not that that the combo is long, the problem is that its barelly do any damage, like Scorpions combo, 30sec for 350-400 dmg. And hear me out, most players do the same combo over and over and over again yea he opens up in diferent move, but after that you forced to watch again the same combo. In 11 at least the krushing blows made the people do other combos than 1 "optimal" (yea breakaway and d2 KB was crap but the other ones made people play more strings)

No, being a fan of something is not crime. HOWEVER, lets make the distinction between someone being a fan of mk1 vs. someone who is actively shilling for and glazing mk1 and NRS. You can be a fan of the mk franchise and still be able to criticize a game or be able to accept criticisms that other people make. Which is why a good amount of the criticisms of MK1 have come *from within the MK community itself.* Pretending like all the criticisms people make about MK1 is just people going 'kameos are too hard!' or 'story mode is bad!' is extremely bad faith and is the prime example of what a glazer / d-rider would do instead of addressing the actual criticisms.

The whole combo hater segment is a valid criticism for a lot of people, but not exclusively because they are too long, theres a lot more to it than that. The pacing of the animations are SUPER slow, the damage is LOW, there is VERY little variation in said combos. If you are fighting Scorpion (or, ya know, the other 90% of the cast), you literally have to watch the same combo at least 6 times in one game, and each time it will take at least 12 seconds out of the round. It gets SUPER repetitive, and its boring. I hate how blatantly wrong he described how people were criticizing that part. It just shows how little he understands even what people are talking about in the first place.

I had so much problems with that video and I’m glad he got the more dislikes that likes from his video. The reason why people liked mk9 tag team it’s because we can switch our characters or play with a friend in tag team mode those are people who just want to play with their homies. Sure it was broken but like no one from evo or skilled player would play tag team mode unless it’s for fun. And tag team was optional. Where mk1 u cant switch ur character or grab a buddy to play with and join your team like mk9 then he comes out saying mk1 has more content but doesn’t mention is the content fun. Mk9 content is fun and can be playable. Mk Armageddon was fun because it had a bunch of fun content REMEMBER FUN CONTENT. then he says mk1 has a lot of content. Yea it does but it’s grindy asf.

He just basically made all of those points up for himself, to try to make everyone else look dumb and to make himself look smart. That is what he basically doing. Like, that he saying that people asking for kameos removal is false. People asking to add a 1vs1 mode and saying that kameos should not be mandatory in the first place. And yet underdawg thinks that people asking NRS to remove kameos. Is he reading between the lines of what people are saying or what? I don't get it. The way that combos been implemented in new game. But not what underdawg said. Cause I literally saw people wanting a old fighting system been back from UMK3, where you can do combos only when you are up close to your opponent. But again, nobody hated combos!

Spawn is the exception to high damage and long combos in mk11, but even then his combos require good execution, certain abilities, and your opponent not to use breakaway. My veiw on the game is simple. I hate cameo characters personally. The story was fun until time-line sh!t became the main focal point. Combos are really fun, and I love them. The roster is a bit of a dub for me personally, Geras, Ermac, Quan-Chi, and Cyrax are some of my all time favs.

@tyrantking222 1- I'm not saying that mk1 tag NEEDS to be added(i probably wouldn't play it anyways since I've basically lost hope for mk), I understand that it'd be difficult to retroactively add such a mode, I'm just pointing out that the argument of mk9 tag being broken being a good reason to say mk1 tag would be broken is very flawed especially considering that mk9 it's been 13 years... it's like saying the x factor from mvc3 is busted, so they can't bring it back because it'd ruin the game. Just because something is broke doesn't mean it can't be fixed...mk tag can be added to any future game but NRS needs to find balanced to make the game not be so broken(doubt they could at this point) iirc moves in mk tag mode are technically different moves. They are moves the base characters have but assist. If this is accurate, then the assist moves just need adjustments. The main moves might need tuning, too, but for tag mode, it's just adjusting the assist moves a bit, and many the tag mechanic As for mk1, that would be trickier since the game would have to be retroactively adjusted to accommodate tag, but like anything, it's proper balancing which, again, I know retroactively adding a mode would be tricky and could potentially be even more broken, though it is both very unlikely and also probably for the best for that very same reason.

I'm starting to think that you simply never played the game at a competitive level. You can find thousands of videos online where players pull-off long combos in the game during matches. In all honesty, it sounds like you are taking his claim in the most uncharitable way possible. Not only did every MK game have long and damaging combos, but other games do too. SF6, Tekken 8, Strive, and Dragonball FighterZ all have long combos. At least MK gives you a combo breaker. Most games do Not despite having more damaging combos.

Don't care what anyone says MK 11 gameplay is trash. Yeah it's a more complete package and MK 1 definitely has a lot of issues but MK 11's gameplay is so terrible. It's ment for scrubs and the only way to get high damage combos is krushing blows which you can only use once in a match. It's such a hand holding game! Wake up up 2, wake up up 3, wake up forward roll, wake up back roll, delay wake up, wake up buttons, wake up jump, OP jump kicks, trash anti airs only a few characters have hood anti airs like noob saibot and spawn, trash break away system the list goes on. The krushing blows were so unbalanced some characters have amazing easy to do high damaging KB's but others have stupid requirements and don't do a lot. Not to mention all the hand holding brain dead characters like sindel, jade, cetrion. I'm not gonna lie and say MK 1 is amazing but I HATE MK 11 lol.

Fair enough, I didn’t hate mk11, just didn’t enjoy playing online, especially when Sheeva was in her prime, that game was unplayable.

@mab03 I play fighting games mostly for the competitive side. The Ai is really boring and easy to exploit. The only times I face Ai are the story mode and if there's a skin i really want and I have to grind towers or something. I just really hate MK 11's gameplay lol. Amazing fatalities and brutalities, great story mode, beautiful graphics but man I hate the gameplay.

The combo thing is "somewhat" true though. There are characters that can pull some big damage combos. Spawn being the biggest outlier. Overall, his video is ass.

Kameo or not it's still mk, just think of each kameo is a different variation. Mkxl was the best mk in my opinion but mk1 is just okay, i think you might just be a hater and mk11 did have some crazy combos. You just have a skill issue bro.

Kameos are just mashing buttons, the story is still shit due to Cianciolo, the list of legitime complains about MK1 is infinite. With kameos the whole characters renders during a match is less realistic then MK11. This game haven't a great gameplay if it's the case people will play it with content or not

In my opinion, Mortal Kombat 9 is harder because of the Shao Kahn boss fights, for me they're so damn difficult! Then again I don't play them that much, only when I want to replay the story...
