Li mei suprised me with how enjoyable she was to play and as a character. I think how a character feels when you go in blind and first try them really matters in fighting games. Obviously the more you know the better but nothing beats a character that clicks with you right from the start. And thankfully a few characters in this game capture that for me as compared to Capcom fighters

As a newcomer to Li Mei and Mortal Kombat in general, I really appreciate this guide. I'm basically spending the whole beta training in towers mode because I got bodied in online the two times I got arrogant enough to try it and this video is really helping me try out some new things. My favorite part is that you actually put the combo commands on screen, instead of other Li Mei overview videos that just show you them in action, or talk about the combos in vague terms. It really helps me practice them in the wild.

Same, I'm spending a lot of time on the training mode trying new combos with her which seen to work if i don't mess up during an online match. But I still have trouble getting out the corners. It is easier when you have, Raiden, scorpion or smoke

@@Rebsuke try learning special moves with armor on them that seemed to help me we getting out the corner if you time it right on the get up also try mixing that with delaying your getup ..

You can hit her lantern with her air projectile and it travels down to the opponent.

I like her kit but damn she really needs Kameo help to get bigger combos, not sure if that is outside the norm or not for MK1. Game is fun though, I can see myself experimenting with different characters/kameos for hours on end in Practice mode at launch...

Bro you said my issue with her in the first 40 sec! I love her but just wish she have an overhead starter!!! That low is way too punishable and you have to rely on a kameo like frost to really get going with her

@@alanbulawa Legend for terms: F (forward) B (back) 1 (front punch/Square) 2 (back punch/Triangle) 3 (front kick/X) 4 (back kick/Circle) So combo starter is her pop up, the F4-3. After the pop up jump to do an aerial attack, 134 and dial up (do this input immediately after the aerial attack) an enhanced fireball (BF1+the right trigger). This will juggle them while you’re falling to the ground. I’d advise doing a standing attack rather than the B2 though since it’s a bit slower and harder to land. So I’d say do a standing 2 when you land to keep them in the air, and finish with her punching flurry special move (BF4)

This is my first fighting game (that isn't smash bros) and idk why but I gravitated towards Li Mei She seems consistent enough and pretty safe... So I'm definitely gonna try some of these out, or maybe see if another character grabs my attention 😅

shes a great starter character i been purely using her in the beta currently 50-38 her worse match-up like alot of others is johnny cage just because NR made the same mistake of making him to fast but shes very solid ill main her till takeda releases

I just picked this game up the other day and I'm glad i found these guides, everything is clear and concise. I've stuck with Kitana so far but I think I should try Li Mei next because she's so similar to Third Strike Akuma. She's got some shoto type specials and focuses on rushdown and setplay, hopefully I can transfer some knowledge from one to the other provided I can get the execution down.

I just started playing mk1 after years of not playing, these combos are great but I'm having a hard time doing these combos these days, The combo that you have that goes (F4,3,J,1,3,4,exbf1,d2) is hard I can't seem to just hit the jump button once after I hit 3, it seems like I have to hit J twice then try and go into the 1,3,4 combos. Any suggestions for help? I've been in practice mode for 6 hours trying to get this one down. sometimes I'll get it then 9/10 times I can't lock in any combos as once.

Jumping after a combo can be hard to get down, it’s just holding up as soon as your done doing the inputs. So when the combo is finished, your character jumps as soon as possible. It’s jus time and practice tbh. Keep at it and you’ll get it 🔥

Pop up and launcher are both correct. Launcher is usually the more professional word for the attack but I kinda like pop up more
