The thing I’m noticing is the DLC Kameos seem to have a lot more tools compared to the base kameo roster. The base character have about 3-4 move where as kameleon, tremor, movado all have a lot more tools or stances

Darrius has 7 different moves where 3 of them are follow ups from the tornado kick (neutral kameo) and the other 4 contain the tornado kick by itself, the 2 different follow ups as standard attacks, and the heel turn (down kameo).

I think that whole “beats wake ups” thing is the fact that the opponent is forced to block or be hit by the attack cause mavado does come out before the opponent is able to do anything. So once they see mavado they have to block it or they’ll get hit, but it is also possible to combo into sliding home from what i tested

It might to do with certain types of knockdowns since I believe some moves cause a hard knockdown which is the other part

I do wish that there was a way to play as the Kameo Fighters in Mortal Kombat 1. I would love to see how Mavado would play if he utilzed those whip-like weapons and electrical traps in a full-on moveset. And no. I don't want Mavado to be seen with a pair of hook swords. Those are Kabal's weapons, and if I want to see hook swords in Mortal Kombat, I'd want to see Kabal as a playable character.

@nathanielhersom234 Assuming that Takeda will keep his whips when he's released. After all, not all the Kombatants in this timeline kept all of their movesets in the previous timelines. For example, General Shao, the modern version of Shao Kahn, replaced his hammer with an axe. Johnny Cage doesn't appear to have that green energy that's capable of killing gods. And Shang Tsung, while he can change between his default and old man form, doesn't seem to have the power to shapeshift and mimic his opponent's abilities and movesets.

Yeah. They should just fold the kameo roster into the main, and make two separate game modes - kameo and 1v1. (And both rosters would have to be tweaked a bit. Kameo attacks one one end, and move sets on the other)

I have spent so much time hating this game and it was not the game it was me. Once I took the time to learn and master the characters and actually took time to explore Invasion, I fell in love. The Invasion mod is not the love on first sight thing, but it is something new and once you give it a proper chance, you start to like it

Mavado might rewrite all the kameos. They may get rid of ambush’s in general to only be activated air Bourne. Buttons will know change based of Being in the air and the ground just like the main roster

Mavado's a great example of why they need to just add a couple options for some of the other kameos. Jax and Sonya are great, but another tool would help their variety and interest. Something else to help differentiate Frost and Sub Zero would be nice. Like, those 4 are good for what they are, but Mavado kinda supercedes a fair bit of that usefulness. I'm very intermediate skill level at this game and was pretty regularly doing 33-38% combos with Reiko and Sonya, as I just don't like the lack of overall mix with Reiko/Darrius. And Jax helped with his slide kick and that was about it. For him, Frost and Sub were pretty average. Good tools but nothing big. Mavado kinda rolls the best of those into one between the trap and two direction juggles, which means more intermediate combo options and then just good safety pressure from the trap and Mavado slide. Frankly, with the nerfs, it means I'd rather use him than Stryker for safety as well.

1) People, especially casuals, are good at blocking practically everything, making his first two moves somewhat unreliable. 2) As a consequence of this, most of his moves (THAT ONLY WORK ON JUGGLED OPPONENTS) end up just as useless. 3) His pushback ability (THAT TAKES UP TWO BARS) can only be done while flawless blocking, which not even pro-players usually do. 4) MINUS. 100. HEALTH. Mavado is broken, but in a very terrible manner. Most of his moves are useless when people can just block every startup, his health defect means that characters with health under 1000 can't use him, and his pushback is ultimately not worth the cost. People who label Mavado as "broken" are the same people who said that Ermac (whom Mavado is completely terrible with) was a damage/mix-up monster, when through personal experience he's not. I don't understand why people keep doing this. Stop spreading misinformation like this. If I were to fix Mavado, I'd get rid of his -100 health (I'd be fine with -50) and have his up and down attacks not require the opponent to be juggled/knocked down.

Finally someone who said it ! I’m so tired of reading the same comments from content creators calling Mavado “OP” and trying to justify the massive -100 HP solely for the dmg potential & the couple gimmicks he can do. There’s literally no reason(s) to run this kameo with characters who lack pressure or mix-ups, which other kameos can provide and judging by his playstyle, the only characters who will benefit from Mavado the most are the S tier characters with already good pressure making them more oppressive to go against 🤦🏻 (though there’s a few character exceptions).

Because Mileena's ONE mid string is near impossible to hit-confirm. You have to dial-in the whole thing and then instantly do an unsafe special. With Mavado she finally has the same option as everyone else. It is normalization and not broken at all.
