I have a friend who's basically labed a Geras/Shujinko combo against the entire cast and it almost always does ludicrous damage. Apparently Shujinko's reptile acid spit is a combo extender btw

@@dankmoonman6298 Starter is braindead simple, as Geras with Shujinko Kameo in the corner fighting reptile, you can get forward 242, forward Kameo, down forward 12 Kameo into 12 and then go from there. My friend's combo ended up at 571 damage with 1 bar, some setup and fatal blow, but it's not my combo so I don't want to share the full thing here

I hope that between Netherrealm and the player community, the meta becomes less of a definitive choice but a collection of viable options for each character. And I think we ll get pretty close to that despite people who will only tell you to use A with B. And it’s good to see that some people are using what they like and not just what’s said to be best

I think it already is. I use shao with motaro or cyrax and have been stomping. Some characters/kameos are ostensibly better pairings and have more uses, but as everyone who's made a tier list has said: Every character in the game is viable with practice.

The game hasn't been out long enough for people to get full use out of Shujinko, I feel like later down the line when people start experimenting with him and memorizing the moves he steals from characters, he's gonna be at least A tier

It's so cool to me how you can have a teir list like this and have it be accurate but you can also take it from the lense of specific characters and it completely changes. If youre playing Havik, suddenly Kano is going to be S teir. Geras gets meterless time freeze with Motaro and Kung Lao and has crazy corner combos against half the cast with Shujinko of all people, and while Darius is expensive he can also let Reiko combo off of a 210 damage command grab

At first I didn’t really like the kameo idea. Even after the beta, but I actually love it. Yeah some are kinda bullshit if you don’t know how to punish. But I use goro with baraka, and they’re a really fun team. And recently, I started labbing reptile with scorpion and even that’s fun. Reptile is a lil too slow though. But with all these kameos, as well as the dlc we’re gonna get soon, there is no way in hell people can get bored of this game. There’s a lot to experiment with. I watched maximiliandoods recent online matches with scorpion and sektor, and that looks like a deadly duo. I’m definitely gonna try to master that team next

Shang Tsung with Sub zero Kameo supports his screen control tools insanely well. Obviously the projectile armor is good, but it's the shoulder and the freeze that really make him great. Full kombo punishes that put people full screen agaisnt like reptiles roll or the sub zero slide is my favorite way to play online.

Would you ever consider doing some sort of Glossary video? I'm new to the genre, so while I'm able to pick up a lot from context clues, there are some terms (how to interpret frame data, 50/50s, etc) that I struggle with. My go to is sektor. That teleport uppercut really helps when people love to spame projectiles from full screen. I dont play super competitively and am not the best player I'm casual but online sektor has bailed me out so much

Scorpion is the best of the kameos. Overhead mixup, and the ability to extend your kombo for at least an extra 10% damage. Any character pairs with him and he has a the runaway move, pulling you to full screen. If you have a keepaway or zoning character, hes perfect. Seein an opponent using scorpion as their kameo makes them extremely formidable, because not only do I have to worry about the overhead mixup, I have to accept that my opponent will effortlessly take a minimum of 40% of my health when they get a hit or punish. Ridiculously op in my opinion. Other kameos can be situational, but not scorpion. He’s easily gonna add 10% to your kombos no matter what

Aside from the combo damage, she's mid. Her ambush attack, while on paper being useful, is hard to lock the opponent down to properly optimize it. And if you have 2 bars of kameo, her combo extension can add some good damage, but when every character has easy 30%+ damage, it's not really useful, especially when every character has set ups with other kameos that are more viable with vastly more applications. Her only saving grace is if you use both bars for her extender to get the damage, but that's really only applicable if they're standing, otherwise her projectiles usually drop.

Darrius should be higher people are using him wrong he gives every character with a good low basically a crazy hard to block set up with hes overhead move if timed correctly the overhead and the low hit at the same time, if done correctly can do like 70-90% damage I only do this with Raiden but I'm sure u can find this kinda of set ups with most characters

Shujinko can go invisible against Smoke, playing him in his own game. Shujinko steals Reiko’s parry. Just cuz he doesnt steal moves that are combo starters or extenders dont mean his opponent wont give him a good move to steal

I absolutely hate that Darrius costs the entire kameo meter when I’m pairing him up with characters that I want to combo extend with. Imagine I finish a combo with him and then I lost my breaker and forward throw for a seconds is definitely frustrating

Motaro has good synergy with raiden. With raiden, you’re getting 40% combos as an optimal any way. So motaro would not be needed for combos. However, counter zoning, he is useful as can buy time for raiden to charge his projectiles which is better for space control. On top of that, like lao with liu kang, raiden’s throw animation and how it works basically allows motaro to have raiden be even more of a threat as he can get 22% off throws, which is useful to finishing off rounds. Also, for up close pressure, his 3 turret attacks works well for chip damage

Daruis needs to be higher up lol, his overhead can be timed with a low making it almost impossible to block, i seen reptile utilize this and i never manage to escape it even if i armor through, i use daruis with raiden and i get the most comeback damage, you can even use his half guage to set it up during middle of mix up but it will be risky.

I feel like there are no truly terrible characters in this game, either Kameo or base roster. Sub Zero is pretty widely regarded as the worst character in the game right now and even he can still get things done, you just have to work harder to get there.

Teleport combos in general are insanely cool in this game. Lui Kang throw into tp is especially cool to me, even if I know it isn't that good
