I’m so glad I grew up with parents that were basically oblivious to video games.. when I was about 7-8 I would go to Hollywood video here (our local rental place) and I would grab Conkers Bad Fur Day for N64 & they didn’t even know it was a pretty adult oriented game lol. I would sit there and play it all damn day & they didn’t know the difference.. same with GTA 3. Aahhhh those were the days man..

Honestly I was born in 1983 played all those games and trained professional level on martial arts. I have never been involved in a street fight or hurt by anyone. It's never games or media but personal attitude. The wise vicarious learning of such games if one has any real experience of martial arts is that getting punched hurts etc and if you do that to someone else... Now you understand it's not pleasant. Meanwhile, those same adults probably saw live combat footage from Vietnam on their television during the 60s/70s when they were kids. Because kids being desensitized to cartoon fantasy violence has always been more concerning than being desensitized to real life violence for some reason.
