The original Mortal Kombat timeline weren't just "visions of Raiden", it's the ORIGINAL timeline. The visions of the original timeline Raiden got in this game's story are warnings sent by his future self FROM the original timeline. The beginning of this game is actually set after the ending of Mortal Kombat Armageddon, the final game set in the original timeline, and as you can see, Shao Khan has won and all hope is lost. As a last ditch effort to save everyone, the original timeline's Raiden sent visions back to his past self from the events of the first Mortal Kombat game. Since Past Raiden now has visions of the future, he ends up changing events that happened in the original timeline. All these changes would lead to the time reset that results in the creation of the NEW timeline seen in Mortal Kombat 1 (2023). Also, the person who says "Toasty" isn't Ed Boon, it's Dan Forden.

​@@Mizukaiolol I swear I've "studied" the lore of the MK universe more than our own universe lmao. Read all the backstories, got super super invested in the Outworld politics of MK11, and even wrote my own head canon chapters of what happened in the missing time frames that aren't explored well in MKX. I'm SO glad people are actually learning and watching the stories, it's so much more than violence of the sake of shock (definitely a draw for fans of course lol) but there IS an incredibly rich and sometimes ridiculous/absurd backstories and plot elements that just add to the charm for me lol.

1:04:24 the reason why this cutscene was heavily edited was because Mileena was wearing nothing but a bandage, I'm guessing it was too risky and may get the wrong impression if they just pixelated it like they did with the goar. Just Google Milenna's MK9 Sercret skin and you'll see why

49:42 Bi-Han is the original Sub-Zero. However, since he died, the younger brother you see Kuai-Liang *I probably spelled his name wrong* wanted to honor his brother, so he took the mantal of Sub-Zero. Hope that makes sense!

You should absolutely react to the rest of the MK story line. All you really need to understand the new MK is 9, X, 11, and 11 Aftermath.

You really don't need to be familiar with any of that. The entire storyline that happened in all of the previous games has been reset, so it's a completely new universe and a fresh new start.

Those who watched MK: Defenders of the Realm in the 90s saw them too, but what's funny is that their skin color was reversed - Sektor was dark-skinned while Cyrax was bright-skinned.
