I found this very entertaining! You have gained a subscriber. I look forward to more. This was the very first movie that I saw more than once in the theater (3 times, in fact). It truly was an awesome experience! When I get a hankerin', I put on the theme song and yell "MORTAL KOMBAT!" at the top of my lungs until The Wife tells me to "Knock it off!" Then I tell her that "It has begun!" and she starts going on and on about how I'm driving her insane, but now it's time for the roll call and I can't stop now...

Robin Shou is the one and only Liu Kang. Not that guy Brian Tee. Not the black Power Ranger. Robin Shou is THE Liu Kang and he is the only one I think of when Liu Kang comes to mind.

The 2nd half of the fight in hell with johnny and scorpion and the reptile fight were not even in the original test screening. They were added in, and they made the movie fantasitc.

So many good things about this movie. I loved the part where Shang Tsung had a bloody nose, and it was the only blood in the movie, and Tsung looked offended by that little blood. Felt like a commentary on how this was a PG13 movie and also about how people over reacted to the blood in the franchise.

Cameron diaz was the original choice for sonya blade but during filming she injured her wrist so she was recast

The only really serious injury that happened was to linden ashby during the scorpion fight linden was kicked so hard in the kidney that he peed blood for 3 days straight and it was while wearing a protective pad on his back and somehow chris casamasa kicked him in the wrong place

While I never got to see this in the theater I did at some point that year and it was awesome I saw it on cable TV and loved it the martial arts was great and the comedy was great when it was needed and Bridget wilson was quite something as sonya

As far as I know everyone did their own stunts including injuries linden ashby got injured during the scorpion fight and robin shou bruised 3 of his ribs while being thrown into the pillar during the reptile fight
