I feel like this movie is testing the waters for MK animation hence why they're playing it safe by focusing it on scorpion. WB is realizing that MK is a very profitable property and has a big fanbase outside of the games. The further they go back the better in my opinion. With Mortal Kombat X and Mortal Kombat XI the franchise turned to the worse. I do not mean the shady monetization mechanics this time but the lore is a complete mess. It feels like some super hero story set in a Science Fiction setting. This has nothind to do with this action packed martial arts story Mortal Kombat once was. The influence of Warner is the biggest problem here. I'm glad this movie here will go back to basics. Will watch it with pleasure.
