They didn’t use shinnoks amulet,they used shinnoks elder god power that was once shinnoks and stored within his amulet and other relics and extracted the power within bfr shinnok could so the way o see it they are smart to have temporarily outsmarted raiden and shinnok but shinnok is still smarter bcuz he still managed to retake his power back anyway he just had to work a step further. They stole shinnoks Power that he’s been looking to restore And blasted the gods,the amulet Was stored away in the temple of elements this is shown in the story mode where shinnok asked raiden to get the amulet so That he may strip Them of his power and then they’d be helpless…it was the only Choice raiden had to defeat them so he agreed but he’s a fool bcuz shinnok omly Did it to take back his power and restore himself as he originally Planned anyway but I guess raiden was desperate to defeat the elder god deadly alliance so he did it anyway. Shinnok was smart holding his amulet when raiden held on to it that way he has it when his power is back to the amulet and then he restores it back to himself lol but yes they are useless and the deadly alliance killed them they are smart as hell to have gotten this far lol

I feel like they just used lost or scrapped footage for mk11 aftermath. This is sort of like a directors cut I guess which explains why there isn’t a lot of cutscenes and why the plot sort of seems everywhere. Also explains why the mobile gameplay looks so bad and there’s barley any audio, because it wasn’t finished or planned to be released so they just said screw it let’s save it for later and make it until a mobile game and let the game text that players can read explain the whole thing no need for a budget

I always felt Raiden got more corrupted and desperate then said screw it going all out too protect Earthrealm more than going "crazy" per-se.

He went crazy in two different timelines for different reasons. Mortal Kombat Deception, he was revived but his soul was corrupted when he was being put back together, in mortal Kombat 10 he cleansed the jinsei chamber of shinnok evil and thus he turned evil himself

Looking back, Raiden getting corrupted was done differently in previous timelines. The original he blew himself up when he reformed, it was stated by Fujin's MKA Bio that his energies were mixed with Shang Tsung's and came back darker going to extremes like resurrecting Liu Kang's corpse to kill the bad guys for him and getting more ruthless to protect Earthrealm. In the second timeline MK9-MK11 he got corrupted by Shinnok's dark energies when he absorbed it from destroying all of Earthrealm at the end of MKX, and he took Shinnok's Amulet which also corrupts people and got more extreme but not so much crazy when you think about it, but Kronika starting merging timelines in history he didn't let himself get corrupted in MK 11(the younger version, since the other dark Raiden from the previous timeline did he got erased once Kronika was messing with time and the younger Raiden showed up since that was time no doubt changing on Raiden's part seemingly before anyone else since time itself was correcting itself since Raiden rejected the Amulet and thus never got corrupted but made Liu Kang a God merging with him, then his own soul becoming mortal. Interesting how with Liu Kang's new universe he purposely made Raiden mortal to prevent that possibility of Raiden's rage and desperation, which we learned in the endings.

When is this game supposed to take place in the Mortal Kombat timeline? Everyone look like how they looked in MK11, including past versions of those who were brought to the present time era, and yet Shao Kahn looks noticeably different. And it can't be taking place after the events of MK11 since, Liu Kang is the new God of Fire and Raiden is no longer a god, plus Liu Koang setted the timeline after Kronika's death. Shinnok was reduced to being nothing more than a severed head, the revenants are nowhere to be seen, and Kano shouldn't be alive, as Sonya killed his past self. Cetrion is still with the Elder Gods, so she hasn't betrayed them and sided with Kronika. And judging on these cutscenes, it seems that it takes place around the Outworld Tournament, but then why is Kabal wearing his breathing apparatus, if he hadn't got burned by Kintaro yet? There are so many question that I highly doubt I'll get any answers.
