A giant among attacking central defenders. Good enough to play international football into his late 30s; at a time when that was almost unheard of for outfielders.

Awesome player. Would fit modern football without any doubts.

Superb defender and great at launching attacking moves to. Liking the Simple Minds soundtrack. My country, Scotland were in that group of death at the WC 86, alongside Denmark, Germany and Uruguay. Olson was great against Germany.

Nice video complemented by great choice of music. Perhaps my most endearing memory of him was his rampaging runs through midfield during the 86’ World Cup, such a shame Denmark petered so early and spectacularly.

I was so entranced, having not listened to New Gold Dream for so long, that I forgot to watch the football. Oh well, next time. That's the 12" right?

Correct. From a time when the band in question made music that believed in itself - as opposed to being full of itself ...

@@rensenbrink70 Yeah, the Trouser Press Guide described it as 'the most appalling sell-out in recent memory'. Over the years I've managed to freak out a few people by revealing just how good they once were to those who had no idea they'd ever been anything but horrible.
