I am in Norway to do bird photography, and this time it is very challenging.
During this two-week adventure we are photographing birds of prey, climbing a mountain and camping in the wild nature of Norway.
I'm in great company though because I am visiting Jostein Hellevik - also known as Fotobonden.

How on earth can it be possible to 1) take excellent photos and videos of an osprey, 2) film yourself while doing so, and 3) basically make a behind the scenes of behind the scenes and all that in such immense quality?! This is just insane 😯🤩

This video made me cry. I don’t know why… Probably because it was so wholesome and a distraction from the hardship of my life. For over an hour I go to leave this world behind and get lost in the peaceful narrative of two life long best friend who I feel like I got to know too. As a photographer as well, I believe that this is what humanity needs more of do you agree?❤❤❤

Hi, morten. Myself Nabarun Roy from India. U know ur videos r so pure just like ur soul. Every Night i go to bed while watching ur videos so that i get good dreams of meeting u someday and capture those lovely moments of nature. The most important moment in this video when the 1st osprey picked up the fish and in the midair it was hovering and shaked its head which caused the blurry effect of water droplets. Thanks a lot. BTW which lens u r using in this video.

It's no longer wildlife photography if you influence their behavior by feeding them. This is how photographers are accused for their impact on wildlife. You have to accept patience and failure which make the photo more beautiful. I was impatiently waiting for a new video but I'm disappointed. Sad to see that some see this as an example. More ethics would be beneficial.

Absolutely amazing! The pinnacle of wildlife photography. I am flabbergasted to see the final four shots taken with a 24-70. The planning was outstanding, because it was able to get the osprey just 3 to 4 meters in front of the camera. Perfection is the right word! It can't get any better than this. The technique of Morten and the wisdom of Jostein, together are unbeatable. And congratulations for using two lenses that aren't "snob" at all, but rather accessible to a wide range of photographers (the Z 24-70 and the Z 180-600). Looking forward to the behind the scenes. It seemed such a long wait from your last video - but this epic made it all worth while! Having that Osprey hit the water so close to you must have been awesome. What did the water disturbance from the bird hitting the water feel like? Did the movement of the hide from waves cause you any problems with framing, or did you rely on a wider focal length to give you room for error?
@MortenHilmer
@MortenHilmer 9 ай бұрын
Actually the movement caused by the small waves on the lake was a challenge. I could not just frame the photo and wait for the osprey to come. I constantly had to look at the screen. Thanks a lot for being a member of my channel. I really appreciate your support.

Nice video. I live in Florida U.S.A. and we have a lot of Ospreys. They let you get close to them here. Usually, when they are sitting on a tree making chirping sounds, is because there is another Osprey nereby flying over. Thanks for sharing.

Wow wow wow Morten what a beautiful experience you've had and thanks very much for bringing us along on this trip. Jostein must be a fantastic guide and most of all a very good friend to give you these opportunities. Those osprey shots were amazing. Also I was intrigued by the flower during your climb at 37:35. I learned this is not the blossom of the flower but it is caused by a gall wasp (Diplolepis Rosea). Very interesting to learn this. So thanks!

WHAT!:) Now you made me watch my own video again;) I have been editing this video and watched it through a few times - and I did not even notice that. I might bring it in the Behind the Scenes video - and I will credit you as the one who spotted that:)

My only question is this: how did you manage to focus on the osprey when he landed right in front of you? the focus was PERFECT. how did you do that?

Wonderful programme and I really look forward to the behind he scenes video. The amount of work that must have gone into shooting it is incredible without a crew following you around. Please include a little of how you did some of stunning shots as you are climbing and setting up. Thank you so much for making the film and as a filmmaker myself all I can say is you must be so pleased with the end programme. Happy New Year
