Love the idea of the trellis placement on the wall...The macrame holder is perfect for invoking the 60's spirit! But, I think you should darken the macrame twine just a touch. It looks too new...lol.

Instead of attaching the chess peices to the table why not make a small thin chess board to go atop the table with the peices attached, that way you have a removable larger peice that you can keep w the set, and sometimes u can set it up w or without the game going on. on.

This is looking so good. You’ve really captured the essence of the room. The trellis pieces on the wall with more greenery would definitely enhance the effect, more plants is very much Morticia’s look. I only realised the other day that in the original series there is a bath tub full of plants in the conservatory.

I really like the conservatory!. I agree with using the trellis on the wall. Since I can''t picture Morticia and macrame, maybe in the corner is good. I'd like to add to Joy Jones who said make a chessboard to go over the chessboard. I use Ailene's Tack-it over & over for tiny items I don't want glued down. I make dots on wax paper so they are on hand. When I want to remove or move the item it just comes right up and I just pull off the tacky dot. Also how about a green man plaque over the door...some of them are pretty creepy. After watching you make the iron maiden it would be a piece of cake for you.
@BentleyHouseMinis6 жыл бұрын
I have never heard of Ailene's Tack-it-over!!! I will def be checking that out because the blue tack I have is just not working and I hate it. And I want so badly to hang stuff up but not be committed to it haha. I change my mind too much! I will check it out! Thanks!

I'm a bit late with my comment but my idea for those darling teeny tiny chess pieces would be to glue them to thin clear plastic like you'd get from packaging cut in the size of the chess board then you could just lay it over the chess board to look like Gomez and Thing are in the middle of a chess game with out having to permanently glue them to the actual table which would damage it and not have to worry about losing the pieces. I didn't read all the other comments to see if someone else already made the suggestion so I hope I'm not just repeating what someone else said

Ara, it's just fabulous! I love it, you've done a great job. Macrame plant holders look better hanging from a corner of the ceiling than as a focal feature on a wall imho - the wire trellis & vines make a much better display for that wall. The little half-pot would look great above the door with greenery spilling out. I don't agree with those who've suggested making a separate chess board to glue your set to, as that covers the built-in chess board which was the whole reason you bought that table (it was, wasn't it?) However, if you did want to have that freedom to change the setting, you could always glue the chess set onto clear acetate or perspex for easy portability, while still seeing the built-in chess board through it.
@BentleyHouseMinis6 жыл бұрын
Thank you Joanne! Yes that was definitely the original idea! However I have since felt that the board itself is a bit too small so having a separate one that can sit on time may fix that problem. But I haven't actually checked if the pieces work with it or not yet. If they do I like your suggestion of using the clear acetate. That would save me from having to make another board ;)
@lalagamma44526 жыл бұрын
The trellises with Ivy would be Spooktatular. It's bootutiful!! The macrame would be really neat. Yes the 60s - 70s we did a lot of macrame it was very popular. I remember from personal experience. And as the other person suggested gluing all your pieces on to a small chess board to add to the table and be able to remove it when you want to do something else is a wonderful suggestion. The room is beautiful you're a very creative artist. I love it. This is definitely the dollhouse I would like to own! TFS!! 🌰XO💀XO👾XO🎃XO😈XO👽XO🍁XO🐲XO👿XO 👻
