That being said I have pushed into going for 100% on some games. FO:NV and Star Traders: Frontiers likely were my favorites. My surprise mention here would be Unpacking. are the ff pixel remasters good for a new jrpg player and even a new final fantasy player? (only ever played 16)
@XanderBroeffle12 күн бұрын
They are as traditional JRPG as they come. I’m going through FF1 and it’s fun. You can increase XP and Gold yield which takes away some of the grind (if that’s a concern). I suggest picking up IV V or VI and try that before diving into the whole collection.
@Blasted2Oblivion12 күн бұрын
@ When it comes to Final Fantasy, any point is good to jump in as they are (for the most part at least) not connected beyond basic themes and a few character names being used again and again. It basically comes down to gameplay preference and, like the other person said, the early Final Fantasy games are about as perfectly defined JRPGs as it gets.

I think a good game for both lists is Celeste, the main story is made of 7 levels and takes about 7/8 hours to complete, it's a very hard game but never frustrating and story/gameplay/music work very well together, if you want extra challenge you can play the other 18 levels (the last one is by itself longer to complete than the main story, for most people 8/9 hours), those extra levels are absolutely worth to complete but the main levels are peak too, so you can't go wrong, just play until you are satisfied
