Talking about a few of the games I myself couldn't be bothered to finish the 100%s on!

Frankly I often consider 100% in any game painful. I just play until I no longer have fun, but I get it, you're a professional.

I have to say, even though I really like your niche of being a reviewer who goes for 100% runs, I would still love to know your opinion on titles that you couldn't or didn't finish for whatever reason. It is very common that achievements can be stupidly grindy, and I honestly can't imagine ever holding it against you for not doing that before releasing a review.

Honestly? If an achievement is unobtainable, it's not part of 100%ing the game, period. Maybe if you got it while it was possible, you 105%ed a game, but if you achieved everything that's achievable, bested every challenge existing, that's 100% to me.

Games with multiplayer achievements tend to be an automatic 'nope' from me. I'll play the other content but won't go out of my way for the achievement. E.g. Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel had a Ghostbusters styled level with an achievement for having 4 players present. I never bothered with that, but you'd see messages online for years of people asking if anyone else was willing to jump into that side mission.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is the one I really wanted to 100%, but I couldn't bring myself to go farming for all the biggest and smallest versions of every monster, even if I already had 800 hours in game

I have 9 perfect games out of 600 on Steam and they're all smaller indie titles. While I do like achievement hunting, I don't get paid to hunt them, so I always skip the boring ones :)

I have reached 100% in many games, and given up on others as well. Today, I gave up on Evil West. I always looked forward to Evil West and it released at a terrible time. God of War Ragnarok took precedence. I finally grabbed it for free a few months back and I couldn't even finish the game. The game is poorly designed and felt like a chore to play. I made the choice today to delete Evil West and Diablo 4. Time to move on to better games that are actually fun!

Dude I feel you on the Shadow of War final act. All that work for a cutscene. I love the games even as a Legendarium fan how they twist the lore drives me crazy. But the grind in act four is too much work for too little pay off

I enjoyed Final Fantasy 15 for the most part, I don't really 100% games but I agree the DLCs can be a pain in the ass sometimes.

Oh, that pleasant feeling of dealing with a buggy hitbox, there's nothing more pleasurable than that.

Definitely valid. I actually progressed fairly far on the 2 Orcs Must Die games, but only because they make for phenomenal two player co-op games, and I had a good friend at the time who also loved to grind them. We had some awesome times abusing the heck out of death traps and cute ways of doubling the distance orcs had to walk :).

I actually have very few 100% games even ones I have 1000 plus hours in. I don't play that way, but I like that you do, as your reviews give me great insights that I might not otherwise be aware of.

Shadow of War on release was the worse time to play it because of how they incorporated those lootboxes into the endgame. It didn't take long for them to remove that aspect from the game either since so many people were complaining and not playing.

BioShock Infinite's Clash in the Clouds DLC achievements are one of the most annoying thing that I did. It requires luck and multiple replay. I almost play a whole base game completing it.

When I stop playing single player game it's really hard to continue the more time passes. Even great games like AC Odyssey, SoW, HZD etc.. even after finishing 60-80% of it, just because of some simple, someone would say trivial, things. Keep doing the good work ftw!

Great video! I never 100%'ed a game before, Today my situation is different so I am more able to do so. I loved Shadow of Mordor and have 285 hours /17 achievements. I did not like Shadow of War nearly as much, and quickly became bored with Final Fantasy XV after 11 hours. Thank you for shining the light on games to try and games to avoid, plus your reasoning; such as super grindy achievements; bugs ruining the highest difficulties; and save game file deletion on permadeath. There are loads of fantastic games with awesome single player achievements. Thank you for keeping us straight with an endless stream of new games totally worth a 100%. Following your 100% cadence has led me into the best gaming experiences ever. I cannot thank you enough.
