He's a great singer and talk show host. Wildest show I've ever been to. Met him privately in his dressing room. His producer took me back with roses I got him. Got a big hug and kissed on the mouth. Autographed my book and even remembered me when he was on a radio talk show and was so sweet. R I P Mort.

Dad Morton Downey Sr was a crooner in the 30's/40's. Written by Jerry Fuller, who wrote Travelin' Man for Sam Cooke but Ricky Nelson ended up recording it. Young World, It's Up To You for Ricky, too. Produced Lies 4 the Knickerbockers. Wrote hits for Gary Puckett - Young Girl, Over You, Lady Willpower & more. Show & Tell for Al Wilson.

I seem to recall having seen an old black and white video clip of him singing something from like the 1950's or 60's....it was more like blues or jazz...I haven't been able to find it on youtube though....he had a really great voice in that one too.

I hope there is a compilation CD on Morton Downey Jr the singer he wasn't too bad as a vocalist but his biggest hit was Hey Mr Dealer that came out in 88 or 89 and that was his only hit but this one was country and he doesn't sound that bad on that.

Good singing talent to be sure. But, content wise, there's a bit of a "creep" factor to a guy coming inches from hooking up with his own daughter...
@peaceandlove5446 жыл бұрын
Woooow, he felt atracted to the daughter he never knew. Wish he had not use the Word 'atracted' but something else less creepy. Nice voice and music though.

This is NOT that loud mouth conservative talk show host from the 90s! It's CAN'T be! I have the album he put out, (Yes he DID put out an album, and it's called "Mprton Downey Jr. "Sings"". This is NOT a joke! Google it if you don't believe me!) and I know THIS AINT HIM. Beside, the label clearly says SEAN MORTON DOWNEY. Interesting song, though, and a good singer, but I'm convinced the two are totally UNRELATED!

No, it’s the same exact person.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but this most definitely is the same Morton Downey Jr. To be fair, though, this tune is no "Zip It."
