In my opinion, Kid's Beauty Pageants are the worst form of self esteem building for kids. The negative ramifications far outweigh the positive ramifications. I know the same thing can said for other self esteem building such as, academic competitions. However, everything the guy in the black suit said is spot on. If you're going to teach your kids some values, don't teach them superficial bullshit such as beauty, shallowness, and being fake. Teach your kids about hard work, the importance of education and knowledge, and doing the best that he/she can. If a teenager wants to do beauty pageants because of their own want/need to do it, that's one thing, but little kids don't know any better. That lady is totally full of shit, by the way. That's my two cents. :-)
