My wife & I have been fortunate to have traveled to this island several times, particularly before it became so popular in the last 5 years. After 10 long summers spent at our "cabin" here (after we retired) we now live here full time. You have captured beautifully why soooo many people want to come for a visit. I’m really enjoying seeing through eyes this "NEVER NEVER LAND" as one friends likes to describe this place. Looking forward to the next video.

I’m happy you enjoyed your visit. You must be good people I base that on the way you interact with your fur babies.

We went to Newfoundland two years is a row.. first year we spent 5 weeks, first tow weeks was on a volunteer event for 2 weeks in Gros Mourne, then we toured for 3 weeks. The following year we went for the IceBerg festival.!! 4 weeks touring the island.. a total of 7 weeks and we still didn't see it all. An absolute amazing place..

Amazing sunsets in this video as well as beautiful coastal scenery. Tablelands was a "new place" for me--I don't remember reading about it before. Really cool to see both that area and the rocks around Green (?) Point. Thanks.

I think the max fuel distance we had to cover was about 400Km which isnt too bad, its expensive but fuel is available most towns.

Canadian folk singer Stan Rogers wrote a great song called “Free in the harbor” about the plight of fishermen on Newfoundland. Worth a listen.

Congratulations on 100k! Enjoy your videos so much. Appreciate seeing you refresh your tanks and handle the "mundane" camp tasks along with seeing the breathtaking scenery you always find. We prefer boondocking, free and cheap, in isolated locations in a trailer/fifth wheel.

I love Newfoundland! Lived there when I was a child, and always feel like coming home when the ferry docks. Such a beautiful place, every corner of the province has something special to offer. Thanks for taking me there again 😀

We visited Newfoundland 11 years ago, and yes, it’s BIG! A 2 day trip across the island each way. We’re loving the revisit with you. The Tablelands was one of the most memorable places we visited. My reaction was exactly the same as Tom’s - a total nerd-out moment.

To get a good notion of the Rock's history, Vikings' early attempts at settling, the hardships endured by the local sealers and fishermen, read New Founde Land by Canadian author Farley Mowat. Opened my eyes and totally changed my understanding of NL.

It is French, pronounced grow Marne, the S is silent. Same as Gros Ventre campground across from the Tetons in WY. It is pronounced grow vantage. Great video! Thanks for sharing. I hope to get to Newfoundland in the next 8 years.

That is the French pronunciation, but in Newfoundland they anglicize it.

Another great video. Great scenic views and information. Enjoyed it as the many other "on the move" videos. Tom is really a closet-geologist. You should plan a trip along the west coast of CA. Lots of cool geology and faulting that will blow your mind (e.g. Pinnacles National Pk). Watch a video on CA plate tectonics and you'll be hooked. Thanks again.
