@MortsGarage Thank you. Unfortunately, we won't be able to make it this year. Pasadena is a bit far for the little man. It's a bummer because it looks like it's going to be amazing! Last year, it was easier for us to go because the drive wasn't far (Ontario is very close), so he could tolerate an hour each day of the con before becoming too amped from all the excitement. Perhaps next year we'll all be in a better place with him. He started group ABA yesterday and really loved it. I'm hoping that after some time of becoming used to being around lots of people, being super excited, and long drives, we'll be ready for it.

I really appreciate that you show respect for resellers on your channel. I understand that there are shady people in every market. But many people really like to dog on, vilify, and tear down resellers. Many of them are just regular people and it’s how they feed their families. Most people who hate them are usually just upset because they don’t find the same deals. They provide a service not just in video games but many provide to plenty of people in other communities that otherwise couldn’t find the stuff themselves. There is a lot that goes into hunting for hard to find items. I love finding vintage stuff to put back into circulation for people to enjoy! I resell on the side to afford my video game hobby because it’s expensive! I sell all kinds of things and have sold items for high dollar that seemed worthless. In fact I’ve had friends/ family tell me that they were totally surprised when I told them I sold something for a lot that they would’ve just tossed….

Everyone on KZbin has a unique voice and thus everyone and their content is unique, sure -- I try to be different with mine, and I know many others try to be different with theirs. But your content is truly unique to me. I remember where I was when I first watched your "This is What I Needed to Hear" video the week it came out and how that felt to watch (this was before I even started this channel; I commented on via my band's channel instead). But a lot of people don't really make videos that are bigger than themselves like that ever again. Somehow, I feel like you do with pretty much every one. I'm caught off-guard every time you leave the buddys-over-beers happy vibe to hit me with something philosophical, or when you cut to give me a history lesson on something specific and obscure with effortless stylistic presentation. Your videos are really really cool & often you use simplistic topics to explore something more complex and most importantly, human, and I think that's what I like most about your channel. I have a very modest-sized collection, I emulate a lot since I was ignorant and got rid of a lot of consoles I had as a kid and can't really afford certain games and systems anymore. I don't want what I think I would personally see as "excess", as much as I ADORE video games. I'm not really your target audience, I guess is what I'm trying to say. Yet, I still tune in any time I can have some dedicated time to watch (your videos are not "listen while you do other things" types of videos to me), and I always feel like I take something away with me from them after the video ends. As much as I love this hobby and cherish the memories I've gotten from all the amazing games I've played throughout the years - I still find it insane how expensive some of them are (even as you pointed out a manual is almost a year worth of mortgage payments, least Sculptor Cut anyways), so it having a house or a little booklet of paper - truly INSANE. That also being said, I've loved every second of this series, and have been rooting for you to complete the quest for the manual, just something about finishing a set/collection of something is so satisfying. Dude I really want to experience a Swap Market like this. I'm a big fan of Studio Ghibli Movies - but if I only had to pick one to make a list diverse - I think I would have to pick Spirited Away (although any would be here), The Land Before Time and Lion King. That's at least the 3 that come to mind, although I'm sure with more thought it may change. You are truly an incredible person, never change Mort. The world needs people like you. The biggest problem is that nobody who collects actually plays the games. My collection is relatively small and I have unplayed games in it, if you have 2000 titles there is no way your buying to play, just decoration. If I buy music I listen to it, if I buy movies I watch them, if I buy a videogame there is a chance it will stay unplayed for a considerable amount of time, by which time 2 or 3 titles have been bought since. I love the Mortal Kombat animated movies.

Now that I've soft modded my Wii U I absolutely love it. You can run almost every Nintendo systems games on it including Gamecube and the Triforce arcade system to play Mario Kart GP 1 and 2. I play it way more now than I ever did when it was the current Nintendo system. My best friend was lead programmer on Split Second so u am kind of biased in favour of that game. One of these days I will get back my KZbin mojo and start putting out the content again.

collecting games has a fascinating double component: buying the coveted object vs actually playing the game....one is a thing that can be sat on a shelf or put in a tote, the other is an interaction through time that may or not even be experienced. thankfully i dont collect games but between a few old consoles and library rentals on ps3 i can always find something to play.

yes, also what is interesting is that *originally* the lure of the game (vs say an action figure/toy which in itself is the attraction) was the game experience itself, but with time the cartridges for eg themselves become desirable whereas they really were just a transport to hold the game, though saying that back then i still liked the sega 16bit boxes....collecting itself is as fascinating as the collections!

At the ending of Dante’s you fight the devil and he’s naked with all his junk swinging around. I agree with Dan on the split second, though blowing up cars and trying to get the best combo on burnout 3 is some of the best times I had crashing. Iron Giant is definitely a great animated film. And I love robots. So as far as animated giant Robot movies go: Transformers The movie (1986), Castle in the Sky, and Patlabor the movie. We collect everything for a reason. But we need to find its purpose. And things that used to provide relief and nostalgia. With too much only makes the hobby frustrating. Like a drug that no longer is strong enough for the habit. I love that your trying bad games, reminds me of picking up bargain bin games because that's all I could get when I was younger. But also kind of nostalgic for those days because we would try more stuff out.

Love Iron Giant! Went to see it at the theater with my now wife and our friend. All 3 of us were sobbing by the end. Did not like the upbeat ending though. A sacrifice has to mean something. Also aren't Dash and Hogarth essentially the same character? I'll go with the OG Heavy Metal as my fave. Bakshi's Wizards being a close second.
