Bought the game - it's arrived today. Can't wait to play it. Thanks for the review Jesse.

Great. Let us know what you think. But now that you've bought it make sure you DISREGARD the glowing stuff I said about it, since high expectations will ruin a game as easily as anything. Take your time and play it slowly and think hard about your decisions is the best way to enjoy it. -jesse

Thanks Jesse - two of us played it in one afternoon/evening session, with a break for dinner in between. We thought it was excellent. Very atmospheric, well-paced and a superb medieval setting. Only one question regarding the link to the main box - there didn’t seem to be Wound tokens in this pack, although the rules referred to them. This didn’t affect our game in the slightest this time, so ho-hum, but we wondered if the tokens were only in the original box?

I'm glad you enjoyed it@@jonkingsbury. I always worry when I give a glowing review if it sets expectations too high. Yeah no blood tokens in my expansion. I don't think they were ever needed.

Really enjoyed the setting for the case. You're with a small group of people in a small settled area surrounded by the ominous forest. And you're not sure what really lurks in those woods. Gave me similar vibes to Colonial America horror. Also this case reduced the amount of special actions you could take compared to the base game; but I think this actually helped make this limited special action feel more significant and added weight to deciding when to use it. Suggestion for a house rule. Some of the questions at the end of the case seem to have multiple correct answers but don't tell you to explicitly you can pick multiple answers. I think really you're suppose to pick the one you believe is the most precise answer but I do think there could be some debate what is the most significant aspect to some of those questions. So if you think there is a good argument for selecting multiple answers I'd just pick them both and then add their scores together. Just keep to the spirit of the game and don't pick everything every single time obviously.

Good idea for house rule.

How would you say the base game fell short compared to this one? After completing it, did you go back and look at any cards you didn't encounter and think, "I wish we ran into this one, it would have made the game so much better" ? Did you have enough info by the end to feel like you definitively solved it? Do you feel like someone could have reached the end and have missed enough important clues to not have a chance of solving it?

I'm afraid I dont remember details well enough to answer this off the top of my head, but my original review is here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pqDKeGWjqbN3nZI
