Don't do it. Study for your asvab and get yourself a good MOS that will be useful to you when you get out. I've been an 88M for over 10 years. Soldiers quickly burn out in this MOS. There's not much to it. Lots of long days doing PMCS, dispatching trucks and whatever bullshit they can think of in the motorpool. Yes it will get you experience as a truck driver if that is important to you but you will not leave the service with a CDL unless you take a civilian course. Most states will still make you take the DOT test for your CDL so it's not like you can just walk right on the job. Bottom line, study and get yourself a good MOS that will set you up for success when you get out. Use this as a last resort if you don't qualify for anything else. Everyone I know in this job is considering what their next MOS will be when they are able to reclass.
