'thieves in the night' is one of the best/most important hip hop songs ever made. Mos kills that second verse in the original.

I was hoping he would put down the flow he spat in "Thieves Of The Night", cuz those are some of the most epic bars in the history of hip hop, but this here was cool. He got down on the beat and had fun with it, and I totally dug that:)
@99SilverSrfr2 жыл бұрын
It would've been an absolute joy. But I like how the audience initially recited some of the chorus, and Mos/Yasin gets that smile on his face, thanks them and picks it up from there.

Damn, you see a bunch of brothers grooving and you think of smoking a blunt? I wish you could see with my eyes, because I feel spirit and depth that would need it.....but I'm from a different tribe than you are.....so....

Mos (in my opinion) really compliments what's going on, which is rare to see. Most rappers these days haven't had the word 'musical' be described to them as anything important.

I love the feeling between Dave and Web. Glad that this is posted here - I missed when Glasper came to NYC Sympony Space, and I've been curious. Hip hop is better with live musicians. I like how Mos Def isn't afraid to quote the older joints - You can git with this, or you can git with that. Sweeeeetness.

@petzaman1 no. it's one offshoot of jazz and jazz isn't relegated to a more hip hop direction in the modern world. a lot more is happening with jazz and some of it is still in the traditional jazz vein and progresses a lot in that direction as well.
