Making a Leather Laptop Sleeve

This leather laptop sleeve is pretty simple and makes for a great project if you are just getting started with leather working. The size could also easily be adjusted to be used for a tablet, e-reader, or other similarly shaped item. I used felt for the lining to create a soft interior that wouldn't scratch the laptop. Next time, I suggest cutting the felt a few mm smaller than the leather, so it still sits on the stitching line, but not all the way to the edge, that way the felt isn't sticking out of the sides and you get a cleaner finish. As far as your issue with getting the pricking irons out easier, I suggest punching the holes on the top piece of leather before you glue everything together.

Nice work. Try putting your stitching chisel into a block of beeswax every so often while you are punching the holes. You'll notice it will be easier to take out of the leather. If beeswax isn't readily available, your grocery store will probably have paraffin wax where they sell canning supplies.

What are the dimension of the leather pieces for a 13in. Macbook Air?

To get the stitch punch out better you could use some wax, certain types of oil (neats oil for one) or even leather soap (usually glycerine based I think, the jars I get are house brand ones from my leather supplier and don't have ingredients on the label). But only if you don't need to dye anymore. Or use a punch with less prongs. It all kind of depends on the situation. Why, some people even use a drill press and drill to make the holes.

Use parrifin wax on you chisel. You can get in the canning section of most grocery stores. Don't use bees wax its to sticky

I like the idea of using leather scraps with binder clips on the sides, but one drawback is there was no pattern given with dimensions, and also why is fast forwarding used in instructional videos? I think that is a deterrent when doing a video, I find this true in a lot of videos on youtube. What is the recommended weight for making a laptop case including the lining?
