Dont rush but also dont feed him tin cans for 5 years because then he'll go backwards and maybe start believing he is better than he actually is. Progress the level of opponent steadily but don't hold him back either just to milk as much money as you can because that can harm his progression/improvement as a boxer. If you only knock over tin cans that dont fight back you don't learn the art of boxing which you need at the elite level. Don't be afraid to make mistakes to get to where you need to get to. Rocky once said "it's not all about how hard you hit but more about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward" - brilliant and very relevant to real life and boxing.

I'm a believer now. I guessed Demsey McKeen was going to be the "too much too soon" with the older veteran type fighter wrangling him around, maybe a very ugly bout, then run off with points. Moses looked like the next 'Kid Dynamite' for sure, however, I kind of agree halfway with the advice on the panel. YES, he needs some progressive ladder but it can be much more like Mike Tyson - the learning is the fights. Not 100s of rds of sparring to prepare but get the kid in with some wise progression. One of those will be a guy who takes him 10 rounds. Good! Another will be a guy where the KO punch doesn't even seem to wobble him and Moses can't find '1 punch' answers to the fight. Good. It might be good advice to let him get a run in the USA. The UK fans are horrible and their main goal is to make the sports heroes become mentally ill.

I agree with Duke. Send him to America to spar with vets like Jermaine Franklin, Johnny Rice, etc. Let him learn behind closed doors and on small-hall shows before you throw him in the deep end of the pool. Moses is having everything his own way right now. Frank should not make the same mistake Eddie made with AJ. Let's not forget it wasn't that long ago when AJ was easily knocking everyone out, too. AJ would have benefited from 10-12 fights against skilled journeymen and gatekeepers, but Eddie only saw dollar signs. AJ never developed the tool bag you need when you face elite fighters who aren't going to jump on the floor the first time they get hit. Moses does have some defensive flaws. He needs to tighten them up before he takes on world-level fighters.

I think a good fight for Moses now would be against David Adelaide. They both got that Kill or be killed mentality. Apologies for the graphic example.

I don't think many people are saying he should immediately go in with the Top 10 guys. Some think he could starting working up that Top 20 for the next few bouts, I'd say the Mike Tyson progression can be done and he can be some sort of champion (probably one of the belts) given a year. That said, I hope they don't feel like it has to be done to 'break a record' type of thing. If it happens it happens.

@@Liamw565 I think there’s a huge jump in calibre from the guys just outside the top 10 to the guys in the top ten, personally I don’t see him beating any of the top guys for a good couple years. Obviously not the same calibre of fighter at all but the fisher fight was a perfect example of young lads getting put in with experienced hardened fighters. It’s going to be great watching his career though that’s for sure, a mega fight with him and Dubois could be on the cards in the years to come 👌

Frank gets it wrong all the time..."protects" fighters, looks forbthe easiest route to the titles and then when they go into world class or unification bouts they come unstuck.

Look at douboir, frank pushed him on too early, took a loss to joyce, pushed him on again, took another loss to usyk. Hes finally there now but he was pushed too soon. So i disagree with simon, frank got it wrong, twice. And using tyson as an example, look how his career unfolded after the initial 2 years at the top, he came crashing down hard inside and outside the ring. Hes still a kid, and the hype will overtake his progress if they not careful with him.

Itauma is no AJ with little experience. The guy says he's been boxing since 9. He's far less likely to be old manned by a wiley old veteran. The shout about going to the states and avoiding the pressure is a good shout. But holding him back whilst he ages and his youthful aggression dissipates is a bad call. Dave Allen too soon? No chance, Dave would get hurt if he took that fight.

Itauma needs to spar (not actually fight) Usyk, that would be amazing for his development. Itauma has crazy potential and as a fan I would already be interested in a fight between him and anybody from the top 10. However, he faced poor competition so far and if he gets knocked out brutally by lets say Martin Bakole, who knows what will happen (maybe he quits?). I dont see the harm in letting him fight a bit more average fighters and an occasional busdriver the upcoming 2-3 years (while sparring with the elite), except for that I have to remain patient while beiing hyped for this guy.

You either want fast track him or you dont. Simple. Take the Azim route around the houses or take the Usyk/Madrimov/Lomachenko route.

McKean has zero power. When you have nothing to worry about coming back it's easy to walk through a guy. Same with the last opponent. These aren't step up fights, they're sacrifices. Let's see what he does in a real fight.
