All this info and the website link just solidified the fact that my 1943 Tula PU is a real PU. I bought it online for someone that didn't know and I got him to take specific photos for me. I was able to determine it was a Tula PU and I got it for a very good price. About a year after I bought it the guy that sold it to me wanted it back, I just didn't reply. Then he tried asking a few more times until a blocked him. This is one of my favourite surplus rifles and its not for sale. Thanks for the video.

Okay wow! Great content again! I had my Tula 43 in a laminate stock over the TV while watching this video and I thought, what the heck, let's have a look. Sure enough, CH stamp at the barrel shank and two visible holes in the receiver. I took off the stock and the holes have been filled in and looks like light grind marks to smooth it all out. I'll post the pics to the Mosin Museum database when I get some down time! Thanks Big Sam! 🙏😃

As a 1944 pu and a 1943 ex pu owner, they are amazingly accurate for wartime production rifles. My pu sniper can shoot 1.5” group with s&b ammo at 100 but it is corked and shimmed. Going to hand load for it, hopefully I can shrink it further. Big Sam I’d be forever grateful if you could go over the specs of 7.62x54r ie what did they use for snipers and what did they use for standard infantry?

Production of the Mosin Nagant Sniper Rifles began in 1937 and ended in 1963 with turn down bolts to clear the optics. Please if you are going to talk about the Mosin Nagant Rifles check the real History of the Rifles.

Thanks Big Sam, after this informative video I feel really good about my recent purchase. I wish you would have added some pricing guidelines to help potential buyers and people who have made purchases determined the value of these rifles.

my mosin sniper is marked with a KC before the serial number. its made by Izhevsk and marked 1943. all matching numbers, matching scope number, marked C and K for proof markings. everything mathves up with it being completely genuine, except for the KC before the serial number... can tfind those in any listing on of the factory markings.

You mentioned in some videos that Original Tula PU-sniper rifles were perfectly zeroed at the factory. Does that still mean that they shot dead on with the reticle completely in the middle of the scope? That the reticles were not moved left/right to look weird.
@johnphilip74662 жыл бұрын
If the reticle is perfectly centered in the PU, then it won't be able to travel the full range of the elevation drum at longer ranges. They were zeroed with the reticle appearing in the upper half of the FOV at 100m.

i found a pem exsniper holes were welded i reopen the holes and a reprint scope and bolt later sold it to a old man i knew he died later and his wife sold his estate later i saw the rifle at a gun show and the guy was a friend of his trying to tell me it was original and wanted 1500.00 then i told him that was my rifle and it was not worth that and i sold it for 450.00 and i would give him 450 for it . Lots of people do not know what they are looking at. and try to scam ,after that he put rifle away .

Hello, I would like some help. I have a Mosin Nagant rifle, Tula factory, 1936, and it has the stamp of the letter K within a circle and the letter A. What do these symbols mean?

@someguyontheinternet76282 жыл бұрын
Big Sam, have you ever found a 91/59 that was made off an ex-sniper? An idea when mother Russia converted snipers to std 91/30s? Gosh dang the mosin is my fav long gun of all time. I've bought five and sold three like an idiot. My wife was thinking she was marrying a crazy person with all these rifles. She was right and I'm going to prove it by building a real collection.

For the price they want for a "real one" with a good bore and scope one could get a new nice bolt action .308 rifle.... jmho. Plus .308 rounds are pretty easy to get and cheap.. be well.
@Pk-io6xe2 жыл бұрын
You don’t buy a PU sniper for utility alone. You buy it, in part, for the history behind the rifle.
@MegaBait16162 жыл бұрын
@@Pk-io6xe , I have one already and has a good bore but I would Never spend say $ 1,400.00 or so on a PU rifle..... No way..
