James Jamerson... this guy is one epic bassist and so influential for evolving the roll of bass in music. FYI He plays with one finger... the only cover versions I've seen on YT so far, are bassists playing "normal" with two fingers, just to keep up with this guy ^^ He played on so many tracks, dozens of nr. 1 tracks. There is this anecdote when they had to drag him out of some bar, drunk as **** and he played the bass line of the track lying on his back in the recording studio, being too drunk to stand upright. The song being "What's going on" by Marvin Gaye (bet you never listen to that song the same haha)

James Jamerson. Artist and innovator. What motion he gets! Subtle, too. Never in the way of the vocal.

Just in case you didn't know, the owner of this channel, mosogotam, whose real name is John Perrone, sadly passed away April 5, 2020 from COVID-19. He was an absolute genius for this and all the other wonderful tracks he created. May he rest in peace.

When I lived in Vegas a friend of mine lived down the street from her brother( in the same neighborhood) and years earlier I had met her and her brother... they actually came into a place where I worked ,- we did their dry cleaning it was a very high-end dry cleaning place- the nicest people you would ever want to meet ....Real genuine , kind ... it was not an act and her brother ( Bubba ) actually had a barbecue at his house for some of the neighbors and my friend was invited and he took me and they were beautiful, gracious people.... you all have no idea. Impressed and pleased that he and Gldys are still performing on occasion, and he is her Manager.

Wow, What a great extended version of this song!. I won a case of Corona beer on a bet about this song about 10 years ago. Me and some friends were watching football but listening to a classic rock X-M station , and the Credence Clearwater version was playing and Sammy Meli said that he likes this version, the original the best. And I told him that John Fogherty didn't write this song, Norman Whitfield from the Motown camp did. He was sure that John wrote it and we debated about it for 20 mins. So I bet him a Quart of Jack Daniels if he was right and a case of Coronas if I was right. So the next week we had football night at my place and we googled it. The Coronas sure tasted good that night. Norman sure made a difference in this world. RIP Brother. Paz Y Amor
