I have every Supremes 45 & albums. Florence Ballard will always be the Supremes to me. Her voice, even in the background, was amazing, stunning. I always wonder why she was so wronged. Surely, she must have known. I love it when she sings " I can't break away " in Nothing but Heartaches. Those 4 words make the sound thrilling to hear.

There are reasons the Supremes are the most successful US group of all time. Those reasons include talent, style, hard work & beauty. Yes, they had great material, but they never failed to elevate that material with their interpretations. This song is an excellent example -- from those first a capella words by Diana Ross to the last -- great music!

I grew up listening to this music. My mother and father's music every weekend they had their little "get-togethers" with my uncles, aunts and friends. They would cook, eat, drink, play cards and enjoy themselves. The only one I have left from that generation is my precious mother and she's close to 80. For all of you commenting “Diana’s better”, “Florence’s better” or “Mary’s better” it doesn’t matter what you say you can’t change something that happens 50+ YEARS AGO! I have no idea why people waste their time having arguments about who’s better when is doesn’t matter. They were all better at something in their own way. It’s happened 50+ years ago for Christ sakes drop it already!
