A bit of trivia: Come See About Me was a number one song for the Supremes TWICE! It went to number one in early Dec. 1964. As it gradually decended, the Supremes made their first appearance on the Ed Sullivan show singing this song. After that appearance, the song regained momentum and returned to the number one slot! The first time around it knocked the Beatles out of the number one spot; the second time, the Rolling Stones!

I grew up in a small Midwest town of 3 thousand people. My dad was the only paid firemen of the volunteer fire department. He had an old beige Philco tube AM radio he would have on in the fire station... I was seven or eight, and we lived in that old two room fire station. It was cold in the winter, and hot in the summer...but it was the best years of my life. I was seven or eight when this was on the radio waves. Thank You Diana and the Supremes to let me relive those best of days!!! I'm a old white man who wishes music like this would come back. The golden era of African-American music. Just the best.

@Roshanda Mills Hi! I was a Freshman at Rutgers, and my Sophomore Roomate would round up and fill up his new Pontiac with classmates, roll to a Pizza Parlor, with the Supreme's blasting away, and come back and keep me away play Hearts till 3 AM. Of course, I was a pre med student, had 8 o'clock classes, and he had all his classes arranged so he didn't have to get up till noon. OH the sleep depravation! But it stood me in good stead going thru OCS at Pensacola NAS, class of 1369. Oh the age of Classic Rock, being young then, except for the devastating war, it was the greatest time to be there then, and then, it was all gone. Poof!
