HI, in my city Sochi (Russia) about a hundred years ago the larvae eating fish "Gambusia" was successfully used to diminish mosquitoes population down to zero. Also, there were planted Eucalyptus trees to dry out swamps. This was very successful, and now it is beautiful blooming city (which was hosting Olympic games in 2014)

@@worstusernameintheworld9871 Nah, all of them have a role in the ecosystem, we need to separate exterminating them from **cities** and making them extinct in the **wild** , the first one is a awesome idea, since almost all of them are invasive species and just spread diseases on living beings on cities, but the second one is horrible, they serve as food for a lot of animals and they also helps in the control of population of other animals (except for the cockroach, THEY STILL VERY USEFUL IN THE WILD ENVIRONMENT tho, but they don't help by killing other animals, instead, they help by eating rotting stuff, mainly in the carbon cycle, eating the rotting wood)

One time I went to Laramie, Wyoming, and in the Wind River Valley. There were so many mosquitoes if you ran with your mouth open on some trails, you'd swallow mosquitoes. They went through everything- the only way to save yourself was to wear a rain jacket in the sweltering heat. Mosquito repellent was worthless, I once put on four brands at once with two layers for each and it worked-for about 1 second. That experience has honed my reflexes very well. Needless to say I kept track of how many kills I got and I got around 300 eliminations recorded.

Actually, about 10-15 years ago, some biologists developed a chemical that would've driven several mosquito species into extinction. But animal rights activists threw such a shitfit they got the program shut down. That single act alone is why I can't stand people like them. Believe it or not, there are some animals that don't matter and are a net negative impact on the planet that aren't us, despite what the sadomasochistic human hating naturalists would have you believe.

I've hatched upon a brilliant plan to rid my yard of mosquitos here in mississippi. I shall enlist the aid of bats! I plan to do a bit of research before building a number of bat houses around my property to encourage the little flying mammals to hang out, I don't expect perfect results, but I like it better than spraying harsh pesticides that might hurt the spiders. I already have a resident opossum and it has seems to have taken care of the ticks, I've not gotten any ticks from my yard while everyone else is getting them like crazy. If only there were such simple/elegant solution to fire ants. after much research I've come to the conclusion that spot treating the mounds is my only viable option. I could broadcast a pesticide but then native ants, and most other insects, get killed to and suddenly I've got empty niches in my local ecology and the next thing I know all I'd have would be fire ants that marched in to take over the territory.
