~My M590A1 is a great shotgun. Mine is the 18" Model with Rifle Sights. ~I installed a Magpul SGA Buttstock with a Hogue Overmolded Foregrip and a S&J Fluorescent Green Follower.

Why does the mossberg maverick 88 with the 20' barrel and tube only hold 7+1? but the Mossberg 500, 590, and the M590A1 with the 20" barrel and tube hold 8+1?

Thanks for they video guys. It bothered me my 590 a1 didn't say it in the weapon but instead Just 590. It has the bayonet lug, is 20 inch, and has the safety on top with the trigger guard too. This video helped ease my mind

Never owned a Remington. I can't recall ever shooting one to be honest. On the other hand my whole family owns or have owned Mossbergs. For years when I was younger I never knew Remington made a shotgun till I was a teenager. I thought they were an ammunition company. I guess I am some type of a generational Mossberg all in the family type of guy.

I have a M590A1 and would like to put a lighter weight barrel on it with different chokes for hunting and maybe a rifled barrel for deer.

Yes, the 500A does vary from the standard 500 in a few ways. Also, the US military used some too.

That 590A1 will go really well with the S&W 327 TRR8, that I’m buying today, for home defense. Thanks for that review. I’ve made up my mind, after going back and forth on Benelli, Remington and Mossberg.

Does the safety tear up your hand from the kickback?

It never even comes close to your hand. Even if you have a really light grip the trigger guard will stop your hand from going that high over the receiver.

The M590A1 is the only one worth owning. It is MILSPEC and build insanely tough. The 500 and normal 590 are cheapies and will NOT hold up as well as the M590A1.
