Did you rip your thumb up loading that thing? My first shotgun was a Maverick security with a 20 inch barrel and my hand did not appreciate it. And the recoil wasn’t a big deal with target loads, I’m not particularly recoil sensitive, but when you put full power buckshot or slugs in there it’s pretty bad… not even so much on my shoulder, my shoulder was fine, the problem was in my face, straight up into my cheek bone. I shot some 3 inch magnum 1 1/4 ounce Foster slugs that my dad accidentally bought once and I felt like I was in a boxing match. Accuracy wise it always shot high to me, which was perfectly fine when shooting shot, but when it came to slugs I destroyed the cross beam of a target stand at an outdoor range shooting slugs at 50 yards. Despite all that, it got me into shotgun shooting, I never would have started bird hunting if I hadn’t leaned shotgunning with that thing, and it is fairly reliable, although some expended 3 inch shells had to be manually pulled out the rest of the way. I actually liked the gun, but I didn’t really know better. If that’s all I had again I’d still have fun shooting shotguns, but it certainly wouldn’t be as pleasant as with a Remington 870 or Winchester SXP.

Can someone point me to a video that shows not only how to load and pump But how to reverse the pump and remove the shells....also, how can u tell if the gun is holding shells? also, what does 5 and 1 mean?

Honestly when you purchase your firearm, be honest that your new to it at the store, they will show you everything you need to know, the 5 means how many can be held in the tube, the +1 is in the chamber
