The best tutorial I have seen! I'm going to ask my son to make a couple. He hates my rabbits because they escape all the time and eat EVERYTHING we dont want them too! This way they are on safely on pasture land and not in the food or flower garden. It was a disaster when they got into the greenhouse 😳

Love your videos and this design. I'd really encourage you to consider putting some thick insulating material between the wood of the roof and the corrugated metal. Rabbits have super sensitive hearing, and the sound of heavy rain on a metal roof is actually quite stressful for them.

Wonderful instructional video! Well paced, filmed, and narrated. You're a very good teacher, Daniel. Thank you for mentioning the tools too, as well as materials - I have no tools yet other than a drill, and zero skills, but it's nice to see what tools you used. I'm glad in a way that you don't have, say, 50 different expensive tools involved! That totally intimidates newbies. I also like that your sponsor is a service you use regularly and which can help many others of us, especially during job loss / change in the pandemic. And the free trials for 1000 people - what a nice way of giving back! Thanks so much!

Hi Daniel. I've recently discovered your channel and thoroughly enjoy watching your videos. I'm fairly self supportive, to some extent, at least and enjoy the solitary lifestyle away from the madness of modern day society. I'd just like to comment on two things regarding your build of the rabbit tractor; Firstly, I would have gone for a slightly thicker piece of timber holding the wheels, to prevent splitting and long term wear. Secondly, your handling of your angle grinder scared me a bit. As I often work with steel and the tools necessary, and might I ad, that I was taught by my late father who was a millwright and a boiler maker, I learnt to handle an angle grinder to the dide(blade running past one's body) for safety. I've, twice, seen people having horrendous accidents with these machines, handling them in a similar way to what you did here. Other than that, awesome work sir. Ps. My family originally came from Ireland and I've always had a special affinity for the country of my Ancestors. If possible, I'd like to visit some day. Sincerely Réno Potgieter South Africa

@@andymccabe6712 regardless of he's been doing this for years, anyone whose kept rabbits know that wire under feet is a valid concern as they are accident prone. Out of safety I'd move the cage when they are all in the hutch. And they need pace to hop around for wellbeing. Im a big fan and not criticizing if you'd notice, just saying I wish it would be a bit nicer for the animals. Rats and all other animals have the same rights to good quality of life by the way, and most of them are indeed not kept properly.
@Dontstaylonely
@Dontstaylonely 3 жыл бұрын
@@andymccabe6712 there's generally accepted UK rabbit care standards and this doesn't meet them. There's also accepted rat care standards since you're concerned about them too. I don't know why you assume every animal care comment is comes from a place of ignorance rather than knowledge of the animal and concern for their welfare?
@MossyBottom

There are very conflicting opinions on the size of enclosures. What I've observed keeping rabbits is they love fresh grass, and this type of enclosure makes it possible to move them daily. A larger enclosure kept on the same patch for days or weeks on end (as is often the case) is in my view far worse for their welfare. My rabbits are moved on to fresh grass daily. They show no signs of physical or mental health issues. I keep them in family groups (the only exception is when a mother is with young). Many people also keep rabbits indoors, either in cages or as house pets - which in my view is terribly cruel, as they should be spending the majority of their time under the sun nibbling on fresh grass. That is my priority when it comes to welfare.
