Heard Nampa gets smells grom the sugar plant.
@livingin_boiseidaho Жыл бұрын
Yes, specifically north Nampa (north of i-84 generally) can get this - yes. It smells kind of like peanut butter. It's an odd smell for sure. Not bad pe se, just odd. There are plenty of people that live there that seem fine with it. I currently live in south Nampa and there is issue with that.

How are the prices in the other areas around the state besides the boise area?

How is the access to hospitals and other medical/dental services in these towns compared to closer to or in Boise?
@livingin_boiseidaho Жыл бұрын
There are several major hospitals in both Nampa/Caldwell including St Luke’s, St Alphonsus, and West Valley Medical Center. If there is a particular specialty then you need then definitely worth checking with them.

How about retirees? Sounds more like a family area and not retirees.

There are quite a few retirees here as well because it is very affordable

@@livingin_boiseidaho I know somehow was hoping you would know of some affordable areas being a neighbor state. Looking at Idaho also, great informative video. Texan here hopefully I’ll be moving out north west in a year or two.

What are your thoughts on the Barber Valley?
@livingin_boiseidaho Жыл бұрын
It’s a really great area. It backs up to the foothills and is connected to the Boise green belt. Nature preserves are part of it so you’ll have a lot more wildlife with tons of hiking trails. And it’s located near downtown but still gives a sense of being secluded. Additional amenities are coming like shops, restaurants, schools etc

Wow! The lies here. Boise is to expensive now. Other places? Why was it called treasure Valley? TV was a big row crop and farming area. Our fields are now gone to housing projects. Soon crop farms and ranches will be gone. TV will no longer exist. Our cornucopia will be empty!

took a big trip here for a week from Florida, not sure how much was there before. But even now I can see its pretty considerable amount of land dedicated to farming. The town center areas are very small on comparison to the land available for farming. I think maybe you are taking it out of proportion because you are comparing to what it used to be 30 years ago
@michaeledwards6890 Жыл бұрын
And yes it is STILL affordable, nation wide economical issues have been worse in the past decades yes, but Idaho seems to be doing OK. Florida is completely unaffordable for us now, rent has averaged 1400 for a very small apartment

I have two couples moving here from Florida (one just moved). Yes, a lot of farming activity here. I actually really like that aspect. So different from where I can from!

@@livingin_boiseidaho You have not see all the farm land and orchards torn down for subdivisions. We do not grow the variety of foods we once grew.

You are right, jennifer. I moved from California like so many other people, and the whole area is blown out and not affordable. Anyone who reads this move somewhere else. I moved from California and will be leaving soon. I'm not being a smart ass when I say this, but best of luck to natives still here because it only gets worse from here on out.
