I am so impressed that as a new knitter you are making sweaters! I was never able to pick up knitting or crocheting, until I discovered loop yarn a few years ago and have made a bunch of blankets. But those are flat rectangles, nothing like a garment with sleeves and a neckline. And that color is beautiful too.

I am into T. Kingfisher's backlist. Can't stop thinking about The Clocktaur duology (chef's kiss), I think it's my favourite. And Swordheart!

The sweater colour, the weave, it just sets the spring mood. Great job Mara! 😊

For Abby Jimenez I would recommend Part of your world, then Yours truly and then just for the summer. They are standalone but characters do reappear and there is a definitely a connection between POYW and JFTS

Thank you so much for now reading the synopsis to us. I hate it when channels do that. The way you did it was perfect.

beautiful knit top!! I'm watching this late and currently doing an excruciatingly slow sewn bind off lol - I'm excited to be done with the top though! it's the new C Stitch Cold Shoulder sweater from thelittlewolfknits

Beautiful knit. Thanks for the shoutout. You are right! YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID is a domestic suspense/psychological horror!

I think The Daughter's War is a prequel (or at least set in the same world) to the already released book, The Blacktongue Thief.

Your most anticipated reads are some of my favorite videos from you. I've either added to my TBR or have pre-ordered the books you've talked about. I continue to enjoy your videos. Take care!!

The sweater is so well made! 🖤 I love the color, it really brings out your eyes. (I hadn't heard of A Magical Girl Retires but I immediately requested that my library get an e-copy.)

I love seeing your knits, Mara!! Thanks for sharing them with us. I recently started crocheting (completed my first Wooble XD) and it made me miss knitting :)

M. L. Rio is releasing a new book?!?!?! 🎉🎉🎉🎉 I’m so excited! I loved If We Were Villains (but I’m a theater kid and I read it years ago so my opinion of it is biased. Regardless, a new book by her is definitely getting added to my TBR. Thanks for the heads up! (Love that green color btw!)

Since you are into theater, have you read All's Well by Mona Awad? I will be reading it next once I finish my current re-read of Bunny. I've heard great things about All's Well so excited to read it!

@@the_eerie_faerie_tales no, I haven’t. Hadn’t even heard about it! But I’ll definitely check it out.

I'm currently reading 'If I Stopped Haunting You by Colby Wilkens' It's a Horror romance about two rival authors getting stranded in a haunted Castle in Scotland. It's really good so far, I'm just over half way through. I got it from NetGalley and it comes out in October.

I'm most excited for the Iron Widow sequel Heavenly Tyrant by Xiran Jay Zhao. I haven't read Ashley Poston yet but all her book premises always sounds interesting and they are all on my tbr. A Talent for murder and How to become the dark Lord also sound intriguing as well as the one about the kids finding the kill tape footage. It reminds me of that Black Mirror episode.

I loved Wexler's middle grade series starting with the Forgotten Library, his YA series wasn't too shabby either so I am excited for his new book. Oh and the homage to Ms. Christie could be good. Christopher Buehlmn wrote a very good novel Between two fires. So excited for summer reading now.

I'm reading Ocean's Echo by Everina Maxwell. A fun, well executed, medium stakes Sci-Fi Queer Romance, the characters are extremely engaging and it feels very fresh. Also it's a Standalone which I love.

Beautiful sweater! I'm most interested in the Ware, Osman, and Finlay books, and possibly the Rio and Rose. I couldn't help myself and pre-ordered the Spellshop, hope it doesn't end up in my Illumicrate subscription as well. I'm always interested in your opinion of books, you definitely save me time and money!

Love the sweater and the colour! The Ministry of Time and Escape Velocity both sound like fun times. Other upcoming releases I have my eye on include The Stardust Grail by Yume Kitasei, Toward Eternity by Anton Hur, and Seventh Veil of Salome by Silvia Moreno Garcia (though I still haven't read her last release). Jessica J. Lee's new nonfiction just released and I'm excited about that too (Dispersals: On Plants, Borders, and Belonging)

I would highly recommend reading Part of Your World & Yours Truly before Just for the Summer! The way she brings the characters from the previous books in is really interesting and emotional and it just won’t have the same impact I think. But it can still be read as a stand-alone for sure if you don’t care about that (:

According to my library the examiner also comes out in September in the US. It’s definitely one of my most anticipated. Hope this means the long delays for her US releases is a thing of the past.

I’m a big fan of Christopher Buehlman! The Necromancer’s House is one of my top favorite books; that’s more of a dark contemporary fantasy, but I also enjoyed his take on more traditional fantasy in The Blacktongue Thief. Looking forward to The Daughters’ War 😊

I'm really struggling with that Jeneva Rose book synopsis, more so than usual with true crime-inspired works, because unlike a lot of killers who get caught and go to prison forever/death penalty, Karla Homolka (the "Barbie") was eventually paroled and went on to have the life she stole from other girls. Including having children who will in point of fact grow up knowing what their mother did... Idk, it just feels super icky to use that for a novel. I could just be too close to the source material, living very close to where it all happened, but I think I'm definitely giving that one a wide berth.
