And to think that in 1990 when I entered the U.S. Air Force, military brass claimed that women just cannot fly jet fighters. Now, women routinely fly fighters and even land on aircraft carriers (Naval Aviators). I'm a dude, yet I didnt qualify for pilot training and became a Personnel Officer (HR Manager) instead. These ladies are truly exceptional!

@@johndd8186Her selection as a pilot had nothing to do with DEI. She had to meet the same standards as the men and wouldn’t be the team commander if she couldn’t fly. Early on, they did try and fast track women until a couple of accidents taught the lesson that jet flying is no place for reduced standards.

I saw her fly in a recent airshow, and extremely talented pilot, and of course the viper comes by those high-alpha maneuvers honestly without vectored thrust, watching her doing an unrestricted climb with full blower was spectacular. Thank goodness we have talented aviators on our side. I’m sure she had to train and practice for years to be that good, but you can’t get to this level without innate talent. Not that the hexagonal paint scheme doesn’t help be awesome!
