Congratulations to Miss Colorado 2023, Madison Marsh for becoming Miss America 2024. Through this venture she will get closer to attaining further goals and will certainly attract more females to the USAF. She is beautiful, intelligent, determined, motivated and kind hearted. I truly enjoyed the text she wrote and presented last night as part of the competition. She portrayed a young 16 year old pilot, flying solo and ready for take off. It was just perfect. It reflected who she is, her journey, her inspirations and determination. It made her stand out from the other participants. Bravo ! Madison Marsh, you are an inspiration and we wish you all the success in the world.

I believe you are as extremely confused as Miss Colorado is ! You say she’s an inspiration ! An inspiration to & for what & why !??? She hasn’t done ANYTHING INSPIRATIONAL !!! She’s just sitting in the back seat saying & doing absolutely NOTHING ! Not even waving w/a smile of gratitude !!!! You should show this video to your classes & students because and ONLY BECAUSE of the incredibley courageous female Fighter-Pilot, Major Megan “Napalm” Hainline who fought against all odds of a male dominant Military, and went to College & took all the toughest courses for more than 4-years, then trained her ass off to get into a Fighter-pilot slot & then worked her ass off even more training to fly these unforgiving fighter-jets for her COUNTRY !!!! I believe it’s people like yourself who are so blinded by the most superficial & shallow achievements of people who DONT DESERVE such attention, who create such false hope ! This video should be called: How to be severely lucky to be chosen to get a ride in the back of an F-16 Fighting-Falcon !

This is an awesome video. I am so happy for 2nd LT Madison Marsh getting to fly in an F16D. Personal comment: I was a SSGT at Wright Patterson AFB in the F-15 System Program Office as a Admin and Buyer in the Procurement and Production branch. I was put in by my Boss Colonel Winters for a backseat ride in a production F-15. I went through all the necessary requirements for this flight and passed them all. On the day I was to leave WPAFB to go the McDonnald Douglas in St Louis for my flight I got word that John Denver (the singer) was taking my flight. I never was able to get another flight scheduled. I eventually as a TSGT First SGT for the 905th Bomb SQ in Grand Fork AFB I was able to get a ride on a KC-135 Tanker. During the flight I was instructed on how to function as a Boom operator and to "pass gas" to the receiving aircraft. Then, over Offutt AFB I actually was able to take the Boom operator position and I refueled a F-111 and a F-16. This was a true highlight for my career in the Air Force.

I’m sure that VR route had a base altitude which probably was not the ground. When I was flying supersonic jets the min was 500 AGL. Surprising enough the C-17 was 300AGL. In a single engine F-16 it’s stupid to fly too low. Your chances of sucking up a bird that will shut down your only engine go up dramatically. Not so much a problem with the C-17 but they look at you sideways when you trash an $8 million engine. Then the safety investigators pull the “tapes (Mission computer/Flight data recorder)” to see how high you were .@@jamesburns2232

if I had my life over again, this is an area I would have liked to pursue. However, I would be more vocal in my conversational interaction with people whether male of female. I, at 65, have learnt to ask questions, to learn about the people I work with making for a more enjoyable experience for both parties, them and me. Had I had more confidence when I was 16 my career would have taken a different path. Parents play a crucial role in their children's development in both social and scholastic. My father particularly did not help me here, hence I had to learn confidence years after I had left education.
