Very similar to Orihime's power without the defense. Orihime's attacks don't actually "hurt" instead it splits matter on a molecular level and her regenerative abilities are basically reality-warping. Pretty op Bankai

It's also really cool how it relates to the Aizen-Urahara dichotomy too. Aizen's ability is to create illusions, but he can't directly affect reality in any direct way. Meanwhile Urahara does not make illusions, instead he just changes reality to be whatever it needs to be with his Bankai. Needs to see? Stitch his eyes. Needs a stronger arm? Stitch it. Entrance into an impenetrable structure? Stitch that too.

i always saw the connection between his shikai and bankai as blood: Benehime's blood. Shiki allows him enough control to "throw it around" like a sword and blocks etc.. in Bankai he gets full/"fine" control the blood becomes a scalpel and thread. its dark but when you turn a person into a "doll" like hime is: step 1 remove the blood

I mean... if you always use everything against your opponents, any survivors or defectors from your side who see it will use that info to take you down. Ywach managed to sauce the soul society so thoroughly because of his intel going into things. And he doesn't often use that card. Can barely think of examples, tbh.

Agree with Jablue, It's very rarely used. For the most parts, it's already a given that most people who are fighting don't reveal all of their cards. Would say it's a great strategy, unless they're overly confident about their technique. But a lot of the Bankai's kind of hinge on the fact that people don't know the limitations and strengths.

If your strategy is based on the enemy not killing you its a really bad strategy. Lets say you and i have an anime fight, i can assure you would be dead before you can reveal your cards.

@@Feja2503 That's literally the point. If you use everything immediately and that's not enough, you've fucked your best shot at winning. Beyond that, there are quite a few times where using it all will literally kill the user, or they have limited uses of an ability and try to use it sparingly because of that. Letzt stil was a perfect example of that. "I will probably win this fight but lose ALL my powers in the process" isn't something you do until absolutely necessary. To my original point, though, if most captains used their Bankai immediately, they almost certainly wouldn't 1-tap most opponents (except Komamura, hence how quick he is to enter it) and would just give away what they can do before crafting a plan to best utilize it in regard to their enemy That's the issue.

He doesn't just "use the red energy" lol His Shikai repurposes Urahara's blood to create the constructs. You see him slash his own hand to block Ichigo's getsuga, and again during the fight with Yammy Through self injury he uses his Shikai, with his Bankai able to repair and restructure *anything it has cut* --- including Urahara. They compliment each other perfectly.

I love how much Kisuke’s Bankai fits him. It gives him the power to learn about and change the world around him, but he refrains from using it unless he has to. Which is very much in line with Kisuke’s view of the world. Also, there is a neat bit of symbolism in how each of the 5 War Potentials, fit the role of a enemy of God. Ichigo is the Antichrist, Aizen is the Devil, Kenpachi is a Demon, Ichibe is Buddha and Kisuke is Dr Frankenstein/Paracelsus. A scientist who created life and a item that allowed you to gain immortality.

I still believe the woman that appears has more meaning than what is revealed yet. It might tie in with the reason why Urahara refused to use his Bankai for such a long time and could be a key elemant of Uraharas backstory. Other than that I see no reason for the woman to be part of the bankai. Other than that the bankai fits Urahara very well as he is one of the characters who think strategically and out of the box and his bankai works well with that kind of thinking.

It's not instantaneous restructuring most of the time. Cutting something apart is quick, stitching it back together is the tricky part. Imagine trying to actively do brain surgery on yourself while completely conscious! To top it off, your mind if being attacked by Aizen? I don't think it's feasible.

I find it interesting that his Bankai seems to be Unohana Yachiru. The Kenpachi version. She has a blood-based bankai, Benihime is the crimson princess. His bankai also has that body horror element, and also has some aspects of healing. Makes me think Urahara is actually pretty old, and has some sort of admiration for Unohana. Maybe his bankai represents a transitional time between her Kenpachi self and her 4th squad self, where she was mostly a healer, but still had to use bankai in fights.

I loved to call his sword the frequency blade because I always thought it can control anything with a spiritual/kido frequency like when he canceled out that blast from yammi the way he did that’s when I saw that he can control his power and analyze his opponent’s energy so fast and I attributed this to his swords power…and I would think his shikai would be able to find the frequency of his enemy’s spiritual pressure and literally cut them in half with ease with that red blast he does with his sword but I guess I was only half right at the time since his bankai has ultimate control over all things lol

TBH, with the revelation of what Kisuke's bankai is, I think his shikai kind of retroactively gets a lot stronger, especially for a character that specializes in doing crazy shit with prep time. I'm imagining him in his lab, using energy constructs from benihime in place of equipment that doesn't exist anywhere else, and using that bankai to restructure and analyze souls for the creation of something like the Hogyoku.

I think urahara used his bankai before during the run of the series, but not on "camera" It's very useful to making things and his scientific work or anything of the sorts Ofc this is not a cannon "sure" it's more headcanon as I think if he did so in any meaningful way I think kubo would've hinted at it

What makes this bankai not broken is the fact someone could run far enough that the effects on them wear off and once the bankai is unactive everything goes back to normal. If everything he does with it was permanent then it would be op.

I feel like Kisuke is Bleach's Kakashi. They always seem to be one to 3 steps ahead. Kisuke's bankai is ridiculously broken... I wonder if he somehow was able to select his zanpakuto.

Nah Zanpakuto are shaped by the users personality and desires. Based on what we know of Yamma they can change. Kisuke has a very manipulative, innovative and flexible personality specially so after what Aizen did to him. I doubt that after that his zanpakuto is exactly the same as it was 100 years ago and currently his zanpakuto fits him perfectly.

Just a different theory bout his shikai/bankai......What if Urahara is lying and his Bankai is actually his Shikai...All Uraharas shikai powers could be replicated by kido abilities especially by Urahara and also Kisukes Shikai Restructuring reality would be a good thematic opposition to Aizens controlling perception of reality....would also solve the issue raised of the relationship between his Shikai abilities and Bankai not being very in tune with each other

Hat and cloggs is a man of science so it's not to far to assume that his bankai is actually based off the philosopher's stone which is normally depicted as red keep in mind the energy manipulation is regular transmutation while there are no circles his AOE in bankai can be seen as a type of circle he has complete control of

I like to think that benihime could potentially be used on a conceptual level like reconstructing the reality that aizen altered or that yhawch changed with the almighty, or even reconstruct whatever ichibe paints over. Certainly a stretch but considering how OP some abilities are in bleach it could be possible.
