Kit hired a guy who was supposed to only scare Ats, but the guy ended up killing him, supposedly because he tried to grab a weapon. Ats worked for Dushane. Kit hated Ats because he had been used to trap Jamie and get him imprisoned. Kit also complained that Ats was causing trouble at Stef's place while Jamie was in prison. Dushane wanted Jamie to prove his loyalty by killing Kit so he had two choices: run away with everyone or kill Kit. The latter was the safer option
