Cool little brewer! Having custom fit / seamed filters will be important. The circle smash looks like it works, but it also looks like it may suffer from similar problems to the Chemex with the pleated parts of the filter having multiple layers of filter unevenly distributed around the sides. Won’t be quite as egregious since the filters adhere to the walls better so the bottom is the clear exit point, but you definitely still get some coffee side-exiting, so that seems like an obvious improvement. Glad to see a flat bottom, steep walled brewer that is getting rid of those frilly filters. 🙏

@cha1ny1042 жыл бұрын
That's a 185, the 155 is tiny
@orea.coffee2 жыл бұрын
The diameters of the papers are 185mm and 155mm 🤝 - Personally have not had luck with lab papers, as they tend to be too dense and pores too small (the ones I could find). In the video, Lance is using various coffee filters in flat circular form. One is actually a Chemex filter, which does work well if you cut it to size - it's thick, with a good flow rate. We sell an alternative too currently, in the right diameters, but the flat project is very much still a work in progress! Hope this helps!

When I've tried to switch to faster brewers - Espro Bloom and Simplify - I wasn't able to produce a well-rounded brew. They were always dry and bitter, presumably from having to grind so fine. @joshyjoshs2372 жыл бұрын
The Orea is faster than anything. Faster than the Stagg X with a metal mesh on bottom too.
