The guy that won the bronze in the first video actually had MULTIPLE matches with extremely suspicious calls going in his favor. One of the matches was against Frank Gomez and Cael was interviewed and stated how horrible it was. He had another where they changed a call at the last second in his favor and then this one.

Sammie The Bull Henson was one of my favorite wrestlers growing up. I grew up next to Clemson University and remember him winning just before Title IX hit us hard. Miss that guy! Dude is still a beast and love watching his youngest making bigger strides as of recent collegiately as well! Side note: great video as usual! Maybe J'Den Cox missing weight for the last Olympic Games could've definitely been on this video as well. Also, you could probably add a 💩 ton of Russians who've gotten caught with their Steriod Program; but then again...knowing that federation; I'm sure the majority of information you'd attempt to find would be dug in deep. Also, you might've been able to add the Nolf/Hidlay NCAA Match where it had the very controversial call that allowed Nolf to go onto win it all. Obviously, there's people on both sides of the fence with that one, along with pretty much any 'controversial' decisions. But yeah, as far as American Freestyle/Folkstyle' News goes: the 2-3 that stick out in recent memory are J'Den missing weight, Valencia basically falling off the planet after his off the mat issues, & the Nolf 🆚 Hidlay match just a few years back. Regardless, awesome content & well done! Best sport on the planet! 👏

The incorrect score is the most baffling to me. You would think that literally anyone could say to the scoring table "hey, the score is wrong" and they would do a quick double check. And it's not like they appealed the next day - it was pointed out immediately, before the erroneous overtime began. It's not like the ref called it wrong - the scoring table just neglected to put it on the display. It's appalling to think that whatever amateur has been thrown on the scoring table could have more impact on the official score of the match than the referee does.

I was told by a Mongolian wrestler friend of mine that the display is a cultural thing. They take their clothes off and hand it to the officials- which means you robbed me- take everything else I have.

I was just saying what I was told by another Mongolian wrestler about what it meant. You did see the coach take the clothes and offer them to the official, didn't you? What else might it mean?

@@gimptf9273 like I said, I’m a Mongolian who has lived their entire life in Mongolia and we have no such traditions or anything of the sort of stripping our clothes off and offering our them to make a statement about how someone robbed them of something. In fact it was even an unwritten rule for thieves and robbers to not steal clothes and a person’s horse as it was there mean to get home and not freeze to death since Mongolian winter’s can reach -40 Celsius in winters. I can assure you there is no Mongolian that would ever bother to make such a blatant lie of a statement when it is widely known that not even robbers would take your clothes. If you wanted internet brownie points you should have made a better lie on a subject you were more aware and knowledgeable of.

(That a Mongolian wrestler told me that) And again, I ask you to think about what you're saying given that the coach did exactly what he did. It must have meant something to him. You haven't come up with a better explanation. And just so you understand my relationship with Mongolian wrestlers- the FILA (now called UWW) World Championships were held in Madison Square Garden in 2003. I worked the head table with the computer operations (I did similarly at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta). In the run-up to the tournament the various country teams found places to stay and train. It just happened that the Mongolians trained at a private Benedictine school in Newark, NJ (St Benedict's) where I knew the coaches/AD and headmaster since the 70s. After the games the Mongolians were very impressed with the school- so much that they sent several wrestlers there that were graduating HS around that time. One became a multiple time D3 champ and at least one more became a D1 All American. I became friends with a number of them. When I saw the situation I contacted one of them (I think on Facebook) and he told me what it meant.

@@gimptf9273 like I said prior, I’ve never heard of such a tradition or an act of stripping and trying to give their clothes to the referee’s or judges as an act to exemplify that you have stolen everything from me. The coaches were heavily criticized for their misconduct and the wrestler even stated later that he felt a bit embarrassed for what had happened that day(he never specified what exactly made him embarrassed but we can all come to the same conclusion on that). All in all, I want to say is that Mongolia or Mongolian wrestling never had such a tradition of stripping down so either you are lying out of your teeth’s or that supposedly Mongolian wrestler has no idea what he is talking about.

Remember watching most of the event live. There had been a couple super sketchy decisions by officials. I was cheering the coaches on too. The protest was bigger than just this match.

This looks like a good call; athletes should not be allowed to evade engaging so blatantly as the Mongolian did, literally taunting that he was doing. Almost daring the officials to the point of disrespect, let alone disrespect of his opponent. To justify the coaches' behavior and have people actually cheer them on with this behavior, I would think it would take one hell of a wronging, and it doesn't even look like they were wronged at all.

So much in the Miller Realbuto controversy would seem to hinge on the interaction between the officials and the Kent State coach. But unless they outright ordered him to sit down, and he basically said, I'm complying with your orders but I'm doing so under this additional protest; I know have a right to protest this decision and I'm being denied it and I protest that in addition--I the ultimate person to blame, certainly from Miller's perspective, is none other than the coach. It is one of the foremost responsibilities of a coach to pay attention to the match, to notice a rule violation or questionable call against his athlete, to protest on behalf of his athlete in the correct and timely manner, to know what that manner is and what his rights to protest are, etc. From his own testimony he was not sure what happened, and seems to rather have been waved off to sit down by the officials. However assertive they were, he certainly took it meekly and without making a stink otherwise he would have said so. He wasn't sure anyway and they said it was OK and he took that and was convinced to sit down. Whatever doubts he had, they plus his testicle size did not combine to make it something he was going to be confrontational over. It is certainly appropriate for a governing body to give coaches and/or athletes the ultimate responsibility to protest, and to make their failure to do so decisive, setting things up that way and avoiding the difficult and unsatisfying matter of reversing and unraveling things after the fact. Of course the officials were also in the wrong to have flubbed the call in the first place, and to have unprofessionally waved the coach off. But everyone should be aiming their contempt at the coach rather than demanding the result be overturned or even suggesting that the rules were bad for not permitting such a thing (as the timer rule was indeed a bad one that needed to be changed in the future).

I remember watching the Ian Miller match and thinking the better wrestler won. Miller was completely gassed and got outclassed in the 3rd period and OT by Realbuto. It definitely sucks for Miller, but he didn't even know what the score was, he simply was unable to stop the late scoring barrage by Realbuto. The good news in the Heil v Lewallen match is that nobody got Covid cause all the officials and coaches were wearing masks so they were "extra safe"
