Good vid, been living here over 30 years and found it informative. Would have liked to hear about Nile Crocs.

Thanks for watching I really appreciate it. And yes if I make a part 2 I’ll add those. Have been thinking about making a video for wildlife in the Nile river itself. Stay tuned 👍

In actually only 3 Nile crocodiles have been found in the state of Florida, all within a relatively small area and all around the same age. There is no evidence of any breeding or adult populations of Nile crocodiles in Florida. There are rumours that contradict this statement though I have yet to see any reliable evidence to contradict this statement. But Florida definitely does have a wild breeding population of spectacled caiman which while smaller then the native alligators, the caiman can be way more aggressive.

For people wondering: Volusia (Va-Loo-Sha) is home to shark bite capital of the world New Smyrna Beach. Most shark bites here are from surfers getting bit, most of the time very minuscule bites. Thats why its the shark bite capital of the world. Most surfers get wrapped up and head right back for the ocean after getting bit.

I like your videos but I think it would be helpful to explain in more detail how to behave around these animals. I grew up around them and my father taught me how to behave if I ran into one and how to watch out fir and avoid them. First piece of advice do NOT run; it triggers prey drive and all these predators are faster than humans. Second, do NOT feed predators. I saw a video of a man who lost half his thigh to a bear he was feeding marshmallows. Git nursed,, put the remaining bag in his trouser pocket. Uh-oh.. Third, do NOT knowingly approach them, especially when they have young. As far as sharks are concerned there are so many where people swim, they would never go in the water if they knew what kind of company they had. My mother was bitten by a recluse…it was nasty…she early had to have a skin graft. I was bitten by a black widow…my calf swelled to three times it’s size. My grandmother put a “poultice” on it and it resolved very quickly. Wish I knew what she used.

I lived in Florida for 4 years. Moved there from Maine where there are very few dangerous wild animals, and I don't believe there are any poisonous ones. I moved to a Hawthorne, FL in the Putnam County part on a small lake in the woods. I couldn't believe the wide variety of wildlife I saw right in my yard every day. I saw bear, deer, turtles, small gators, sandhill cranes, indigo snakes, cormorants, egrets, vultures, boar, armadillo, golden orb weavers, spiny orb weavers, and other species without even leaving my yard. I've never lived anywhere else with that much wildlife around me. It sort of scared me though because, unlike you, I was never taught how to behave around any wildlife there. I had no idea what was poisonous and what wasn't. I wasn't sure if a black bear or wild boar would attack me, or some poisonous snake would bite me. It was a little nerve racking at first. It was really cool though. The only species I encountered there that I never want to see again are those stupid Love Bugs. Dang! Had millions of them stuck to my pickup! LoL

Lived here for many years and if you see alligators you may be near a golf course. Bears? Haven't seen many. Sharks have only seen black tips off the Keys. Spiders are everywhere but usually they don't bother you if you don't bother them so drag garden rake or a branch and shake it before you go. Snakes only bad in the glades, pythons are hunted. Wild pigs are hunted normally. Panthers are protected and you rarely see them.

I purchased a new home in the tampa bay area. There is a pond in my community. Neighbors have spotted wild hogs, coyote, snakes, and there are like 4 alligators living in that pond. Im glad my house is on the opposite side but i still proceed with caution.

Since I was a little kid all the way until now I have always seen black bears regularly. Lady across the street used to be stupid and feed them and we all warned her and one day she ran out of food to feed it and it mauled her which she barely survived and required 13 plastic surgeries and because of her stupid actions she got the bear killed.

Awesome video! But, as a Floridian, you missed an animal. A lion fish is an invasive species that is mostly found in Jupiter FL. Lion fish are venomous and dangerous. So I would’ve added that.

The most dangerous animal in Alabama is the pot belly old white redneck with a twang so thick you can hardly know if they are talking or grunting. Man they are common all over but very common where catfish are being fried and craw daddies are around . If you see john deer lawn tractors gtfa and don't wait to collect anything. Move out .

Do you actually live in Florida? I live in a rural area between a large State Park and a large Federal Preserve, I see panthers regularly, we’ve had some close encounters, the panther is the first to turn its gaze away from me and disappear into the surrounding woods. I even came upon a mom with 2kittens, she gathered them and the three of them sat down within 30 feet from me and watched as I passed by to return to my house. We see a lot of big black bears, they are allowed to pass though our large field but if they come close to the house we step outside clap our hands and yell at them and they take off. Snakes…Diamondbacks have never been a problem, if you get close enough they rattle which says, hey you see me down here, yes I do now, thanks for the warning. Moccasins are a different story, it’s recorded that most moccasin bites are to young drunk males who are trying to catch them. I’ll admit you have to be watchful of them. Python invasion is whipping out most of the wildlife in south Florida, they are the biggest threat we are facing now, as bad as lost of habitat. I could go on but I’ve made my point, Florida’s wildlife isn’t vicious, looking to kill everything they see. Watch your step, be aware of surroundings and hope you get to see some of our wonderful wildlife. If you want to see an exciting wildlife encounter look up Florida Panther chasing deer on my address.
