One last mention..RIP to Daniel Kurtis. I hung out with him while living in Huntington Beach back in 05'-06. Awesome kid of only 20-22yrs old. You reminded me at 15:32 On October 30, 2006, the fire was fully contained. Five firefighters died defending a vacant house locally known as the "Octagon" that was ultimately destroyed by the fire: Jason McKay, Jess McLean, Daniel Kurtis Najera, Mark Loutzenhiser and Pablo Cerda.

Roofing isn't as bad as some of these but I've seen some crazy shit. One guy accidentally stuck his arm up to his elbow in 600 degree liquid asphalt. another guy 1st day on the job fell of a second story apartment roof .compound fracture below the elbow. Had to drive himself to the hospital because nobody else would miss work to take him. One dumbass ran off a roof chasing his hat and just like a cartoon it seemed like he was hovering in the air before boom. I never laughed so hard how he didn't break his leg is beyond me. Nowadays OSHA has all these safety harness you got to wear and that's when I quit roofing for a company and started doing my own gig.

I had, yeah past tense, an uncle who was a lineman. He got across the wrong wire and got knocked off a power pole. He never walked right again, right up until up he died.

Former janitor here. I think for us, the biggest dangers are based on where we are employed. I worked at a large industrial plant. So for me, the dangers where harsh chemicals and sleep deprivation from long hours

I've got a couple friends who are king crab fishermen. They've said that its only dangerous like that during the winter, which makes sense considering thats when the winds actually get to those speeds

Oh my stars that squirrel jump scare was hilarious 🐿️😮😂 However the pizza delivery people are at insane risk for such a basic food item 😞 The worst over all were the poor sewage workers, that's absolutely horrific conditions 😞 But the lighthouse keeper killed by molten lead was horrendous but the odds of that ever happening were millions to one, one very unlucky man. Fascinating video as always, cheers me dears 😊

yes that lighthouse keeper suffered for 12 days till he died. you know how much it hurts to get burned and he got it on his face, inside his mouth, down his esophagus and in his stomach. wow pain

It gets much colder than -20 in Alaska even at it's most southern point. I worked on a crab boat for one season and the coldest it got was -67. You can make 50k per season depending on the catch and what job you have. It was a decent season and I made 20k as a sorter.

As this video clearly shows wages do not even come close to represent the importance or danger of a job. Getting paid a few cents for every time you risk your life, while others sit on a chair and click a few buttons to earn millions. What a fair and wonderful world we living on..

the inventor of the bulletproof vest was a pizza driver and got ambushed on night by robbers . he had a gunfight and survived. it inspired him to come up with a bullet resistant vest. he would do demonstrations to police depts by shooting himself in the chest at point blank range with a pistol while wearing the vest.

Most of the time, the crocodiles are actually calm and don't mind since the handlers don't actually 'wrestle' them; they don't throw them around and yank them side to side, they give their tails a little soft, tug and the crocodiles are given their favorite foods which makes them passive since they know if they just let the handlers work, they'll be fed gratefully.

Old school bridge builders , often suffocated , when building the underwater bits , by hand . When sky scrapers came along , it was several men on one joint , with specific jobs to do , like heating the rivets , the holder of the red hot rivet , the hammerer and possibly one or two more , and all without saftey gear for the most part . The Latrine cleaners , should have better pay and conditions - wonder if yhey on sell the waste to farmers in the area ? , as that would boost their income a bit - in India , all the Latrine cleaners , would be from the "untouchable" class , right at the bottom of India's society , for anything .

A friend of mine's father was a line worker in Florida who was unfortunately electrcuted one say that blew the top of his head right off and survived !! I was skeptical until one day i saw an Olan Mills 8x10 photo of him. And yes the top 2 inches of his head was got and flat !!! I was shocked to say the least..

Just saw something that creeped me out. That last picture of iron workers, the ones in the circle, was actually an advertisement. But the creepy part is that the same beam is used for a “ride” out over the streets, however many feet below. When I saw the most recent video of this beam a bunch of women were sitting on the iron beam as it slowly rotated out over the streets below. There were probably 7-8 women sitting on the beam. No thanks, not me. And btw, that rhododendron honey can be fatal. Interesting article in Wikipedia. A nurse I used to work with was married to a lineman. They weren’t in the greatest financial position in their early years. In one especially tough period she was tempted to cancel their life insurance. The woman who sold her the policy was very concerned about that and told her “I’ll pay this for you so you can keep it.” My friend agreed even though she felt bad about it. Good thing she let the friend pay the tab. The very next day her husband accidentally came into contact with a live wire. He was instantly electrocuted and lost his life.

I've been logging almost every day for the last 3 years and i gotten my fair share of injuries. 3 broken ankles, 2 broken wrists and a shattered ankle and I'm still logging to this day.
