Am I right in thinking that none of those figures take a complete energy audit? Unless you account for their footprint during manufacture, transport, maintenance and replacement cycle, these figures are utterly meaningless. For instance, do you know which uses the most power to manufacture per 1Kw of panel? how much water each pollutes with heavy metals and etching acids? Which has the longest life span to 50% efficiency etc? Without having to do any calculations, I can tell you that coppiced wood, fed into steam turbines will beat them all. Solar panels are an environmental snow job, and unless you are going to do the sums for their entire environmental impact, these figures are at best merely academic, and at worst, highly misleading.

They only measure the device's efficiency, meaning what percentage of the sun's energy it captures. Nobody, especially not those earning a fortune selling these, asks how much energy goes into them to manufacture, market and transport, or what environmental damage is done as part of that manufacturing process. The worst example is large scale wind turbines. Their concrete bases produce more CO2 than they could offset in 50 years of constant production, but their designated life span is 40 years. We released more CO2 into the atmosphere building them than they can EVER offset, and we did it all at once! Any objective audit has to conclude that it would have been less damaging to simply continue with coal fired power stations rather than going with massive turbines. Not that I advocate coal, or any other fossil fuel solution. There are much better, more efficient and long lasting solutions like wave, tidal, micro-hydro and biogas, but those are not nearly as profitable for the huge corporations behind solar and wind power, like the Rothschilds and Rockerfellers. Dynasties that made their fortunes on fossil fuels and now have a controlling stake in so called sustainable alternatives. There is nothing sustainable or environmentally beneficial about large scale solar or wind.

Sunpower panels made in the US are the best in the world but they are expensive. You can try "Canadian Solar" brand. They are very good and very cheap.

India has its own solar panels called Vikram Solar panels. They are fairly good. As for Inverters, the cheapest one that you can get and they are also good quality are Infini Inverters.You can check the other videos on many Inverter on this channel. Your title is incorrect. These are the most efficient MAN MADE solar cells and panels in 2017. The most efficient solar cells are, and always will be leaves. The most efficient solar arrays are and always will be trees. If you think I am wrong? Just consider coppice can produce more than twice the Kilojoules of the same sized array over the long term, and is a carbon neutral fuel. The pollution and unaccounted for energy consumption in the production, transport and maintenance of a man made solar array will NEVER match the self replicating, self regulating nature of a simple coppiced stand of willow, birch or ash. You are attempting to do what trees do already, with much more efficiency than you realize. You'll never get local wildlife to love your artificial attempts either. Coppice + Burner + Turbine = Better than ANYTHING you can come up with, but that will NEVER make money for the global elites, so let's continue to poison our rivers with heavy metals to make these highly profitable items for the corporations to pitch to us. PV solar and Large scale wind turbines are BOTH counter productive and environmentally distructive, but nobody expects you to think about it yourself. Just keep trusting the experts and breathing through your mouths you sad, sleeping victims.

You are right. Cannot dispute that leaves are the most efficient. When we speak about solar panels though, it is implied that we are talking about man made stuff. If you check the EROEI of solar panels, it much more than 1. i.e the energy returned by them is much more than what is invested in their making and their transport. I wont deny that we live in a world where corporate greed reigns supreme. I will dispute that panels are environmentally destructive.

Missed opportunity to compare trees to natural fission reactors: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural_nuclear_fission_reactor Also, at least one solar farm I'm aware of uses its inevitable shade to grow ginseng. With thought and planning, I'm sure there are other ways to take advantage of it just the same. This video was very informative. I had no idea how ineffective some solar technologies are. No wonder I've only ever seen the crystal panel used in kids' science toys.
