I drove through Jasper a few years ago. So much dead pine. Hectares of it. It was/is one giant tinder box waiting to happen. They should have stopped the pine beetle when they had the chance in Tweedsmir Park all those years ago. I'm glad to see they cut out a massive fire break around Jasper a few years ago. I wonder if will help.

In Vancouver every year I have to close the windows and spray water mist to take the smoke out of the air. I also take a spray bottle with me camping in the Kootenays in case of smoke. It really helps a lot.

Totally understand your struggle. In vancouver over the past number of years we have been getting so much smoke in the summer. I have asthma, so I had to get air purifiers to help keep the air in my place cleaner and portable AC so I can keep cool with the windows closed. It definitely helps during fire season. I can smell the smoke in the air outside where I am now. Preparing for when it really rolls in more.

Some help: South Europe: Many countries there have no fire and higher temperatures than Canada plus more months with warm temperatures. Serbia, Bosnia are one of those countries': 44 degrees for 4 months, no fires ever! In Latin America,many countries like that. Cuba country we all visited: plant of trees, bushes tick next to each other in central part of the country ..etc visible from airplane ✈️ ..no fires ever 🔥
